At Volta, we’re on a mission to accelerate the adoption of the electric vehicle. Volta creates city-wide free electric vehicle charging networks in major metropolitan areas. Our charging networks are free-to-use, free to our property partners, and monetized through brand sponsorships and digital media content.

In this role specifically, you will be working across our software and hardware groups, ensuring incredible user experiences from our mobile app to our stations for thousands of EV drivers across the country, and interacting with our network of 700+ charging stations across the US.

    • Represent the voice of the user by performing automated and manual testing across our products from our physical stations to our mobile app
    • Develop detailed test plans to cover both our mobile, software and hardware products
    • Develop test scripts to automate test plans
    • Identify test strategies for a given feature and create test plans in accordance
    • Investigate issues reported by customers, internal engineers, and your own testing
    • Triage automation failures
    • Execute functional and regression tests as a part of release testing and triage results big-picture
    • Identify and drive big-picture initiatives to improve our stations, software, and mobile with testing efficiency and visibility
    • Proactively communicate concerns and risks to Engineering and Product leaders


    • 2+ Years of previous experience QA Engineering and manual testing
    • Manual and\or automated testing skills, including the accessibility
    • An understanding of QA and automated testing best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
    • A passion for your craft and pioneering spirit that drive continual advancement and learning
    • Demonstrable ability to influence and collaborate across organizational departments
    • Exceptional attention to detail and aesthetic appreciation of functional UI design
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Bonus Points

    • Experience in the electric vehicle or energy space
    • Mobile and hardware testing experience
    • Experience hiring, mentoring and managing small QA teams at all levels of experience
