The Field Operations Engineer oversees the design, installation, quality assurance, and training for advanced security technologies, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection systems. This role ensures effective deployment, provides technical support, and drives customer success by collaborating with internal teams, partners, and clients.

Key Responsibilities - Deployment & Onboarding

    • Oversee customer-facing deployments, including device configuration, network setup, and system go-live.
    • Conduct on-site visits to verify setups and ensure smooth rollouts.
    • Lead installation of security technologies, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., UL, NFPA).
    • Train stakeholders on system operation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities - Technical Support & Troubleshooting

    • Troubleshoot network and device issues (e.g., VLANs, RTSP, firewalls, camera profiles).
    • Ability to write shell scripts and automate linux tasks
    • Python knowledge is a plus
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve escalations and improve system reliability.
    • Install, configure, and maintain servers in IDFs, and manage low-voltage cabling (Ethernet, fiber optics) with proper documentation.

    • Act as a trusted technical partner, ensuring maximum value from Volt AI’s solutions.
    • Document deployment insights to enhance future customer experiences.
    • Provide proactive support to minimize downtime and boost satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities - Operational Excellence

    • Implement quality assurance/control to meet industry standards and organizational requirements.
    • Supervise field operations teams for efficient project completion.
    • Create and maintain accurate facility maps, as-built drawings, and system specifications.
    • Generate reports on field operations performance, recommending improvements.

Key Responsibilities - Leadership & Technical Expertise

    • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and innovative solutions.
    • Manage projects to deliver on time and within budget.
    • Deliver end-user training to ensure effective system use.

Required Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
    • Experience: 5+ years in technical field operations (preferably physical security), 3+ years in customer-facing technical support/IT systems preferred.
    • Skills:Expertise in security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection).Proficiency in networking (VLANs, firewalls, VPNs).Experience with IP cameras and RTSP streaming preferred.Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills.Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and quality control.
    • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in field environments, perform physical labor, and travel frequently.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Familiarity with security standards (UL, NFPA, ASIS International).
    • Experience with authentication protocols (ONVIF, profile management).
    • CSPM, CPP, or equivalent, highly desirable
    • Background in physical security or video systems.
    • Experience in startups or fast-paced environments.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) for creating detailed facility layouts and security system designs.
