About the Role
Voltus is hiring an energetic Market Operations Intern who possesses the drive and critical thinking to make us more efficient in executing our promises to both our internal and external customers. You take pride in finding new ways to do something better in less time. You love getting into the weeds and figuring out all the intricacy and nuance, then distilling it into a simple, actionable format so others don’t have to follow in your footsteps. You have a relentless attention to detail, are a master project manager, and are intellectually curious about energy markets and demand-side resources. You are bright, gritty, and good and want to work with others like you.
Voltus is a remote and virtual company, distributed across the US, Canada, and abroad with many team members in New York, San Francisco, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, DC and other cities. This is a remote role; you can work from anywhere, but you must be within 4 hours of North American Pacific Time.

Key Responsibilities
- Researching data collection methods for utilities; compiling findings into a easily digestible format that can be used across the business
- Assist in requesting and submitting energy usage data; optimizing and automating the process
- Complete other project-based work that helps us identify new opportunities, automates business processes, and protects us from losing revenue
Qualifications
- Perseverance in problem-solving and figuring out new skills and processes
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment
- Self-starter with the ability to identify and appropriately prioritize our most pressing needs
- Initiative to drive projects to resolution and seek guidance when ended
- Communicative and collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Interested in learning about energy industry, and cares about its environmental impacts
- Experience with Excel and/or Python is a bonus
- Eligible to work in the US or Canada without sponsorship
