Wachter, Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Manager of Server Operations in our Lenexa, KS office. This pivotal, hands-on role is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and strategy of our cloud, on-prem, and Colo-based server infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our business applications and services.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or relevant work experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in server administration or operations, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
    • Strong technical knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services (Azure).
    • Experience with disaster recovery planning, data backups, and business continuity strategies.
    • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, VCP, etc.) are a plus.

Key Responsibilites:

    • Lead and manage the Server Operations Team, overseeing all physical and virtual server infrastructure.
    • Develop and implement strategies for server systems management, maintenance, and enhancement.
    • Ensure high availability and reliability of critical services to meet business objectives.
    • Monitor performance, troubleshoot problems and outages, and oversee security.
    • Coordinate with other IT and business units to align operations with overall business goals.
    • Manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
    • Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of management tools and software.
    • Prepare and manage the budget for server operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
    • Keep abreast of new technologies and trends in server and data center operations to drive innovation within the company.
