Wachter is accepting applications for an experienced Industrial Electrician Foreman / Superintendent to manage a crew in an industrial environment. Candidates should have experience leading projects and crews. This is a traveling position and candidates will be expected to be on site in various locations for extended periods of time. This need will provide long-term employment with an array of benefits for the right person.  Pay will be based on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Performs tasks and scheduled assignments to ensure that electrical systems are properly maintained and operating correctly
    • Troubleshoot instrumentation, motor controls, and be knowledgeable in industrial construction practices
    • Adhere to NFPA 70E guidelines for electrical safety and company policies
    • Interpret drawings and apply to field install maintaining NEC requirements
    • Communicate with customers through verbal or written means
    • Manage a crew of electricians
    • Ability work after-hours or weekends to finish job at times

    • Pay Range: $30-$45/hr

Requirements:

    • Licensed Electrician.
    • Current Journeyman or Master’s.
    • Experience as a Lead or Foreman electrician.
    • Experience as a Commercial and/or Industrial Electrician.
    • MSHA certification is a plus but not required
    • Available and willing for travel.
    • Flexible and willing to work on-call, day, night, weekend, or overtime shifts as the job requires.
    • Experience reading blueprints and site maps.  
    • Knowledgeable of NFPA 70E, proper ARC flash PPE.
    • Able to read all types of electrical drawings, single lines, and P&IDs.
    • Proficient in installing grounding systems, CAD Welding, and Mechanical connections.
    • Knowledgeable in industrial construction practices.
    • Experience as a Commercial and/or Industrial Electrician.
    • Proficient with lighting circuits maintenance, repair, and new installation 120v-480v.
    • Advanced Controls – includes Wye-Delta starters, part winding starters, soft starts, and VFDs.
    • Ability and knowledge to properly operate the common large tools of the electrical trade such as various types of threading equipment, hand, mechanical and hydraulic bending equipment, and tugging equipment.
    • General knowledge of PLC.
    • Use of various types of instruments used in the electrical trade including voltage meters, ammeters, and meggers.
    • Instrumentation knowledge. including Flow meters, Digital valves, and Analog Instruments.
    • Able to work inside or outside in various temperatures and environments.
    • Must have reliable transportation with insurance.
    • Safety conscious, follow all applicable PPE guidelines.
    • Has basic hand tools and PPE.
    • Outstanding troubleshooting skills.
    • Experience managing large industrial/commercial projects
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, etc.
    • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills with Project Managers; verbal and written. 
    • Comfortable working unsupervised and with teams of 4 to 20 other technicians. 
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Certified to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, and ability to work at heights.
    • Able to pass drug and background screening.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.

Responsibilities:

    • Performs tasks and scheduled assignments to ensure that electrical systems are properly maintained and operating correctly
    • Troubleshoot instrumentation, and motor controls.
    • Adhere to NFPA 70E guidelines for electrical safety and company policies.
    • Interpret drawings and apply to field install maintaining NEC requirements.
    • Communicate with customers through verbal or written means.
    • Lead and manage small crews of 2-8 electricians by providing daily instruction and training, as needed. Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed electrical systems and component devices are operational.
    • Ability work after-hours or weekends to finish job at times
    • Inspect and test electrical components to diagnose problems, repair broken electrical components, and install updates for outdated electrical systems. 
    • Install and layout of various types of conduits, including cable trays.
    • Install and troubleshoot Heat Tracing and Freeze Protection.
    • Set up and pull conductors in conduit and cable tray, including the proper methods of attaching the cables to the pulling mechanism. 
    • Switch gear installation and Iron frame breaker maintenance.
    • Troubleshoot electrical problems and install new wiring or other components to fix lighting, fuse boxes, and generators.
    • Assist with pre-installation opportunities by designing and planning technical solutions.
    • Promptly provide clear daily updates and communicate effectively with Project Managers, customers, and technicians.
    • Provide regular updates to Project Management on project status and current objectives.    
    • Ensure electrical systems meet local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements. 
    • Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA.
    • Perform any other duties not specifically stated herein, but which your supervisor may assign.
