Job Brief:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Responsible Officer(RO)/ PPJ APERD to oversee and ensure compliance with local financial regulations and internal governance standards in Indonesia. Reporting to the Country Director with a dotted line to the Compliance Lead, this critical role is necessary for regulatory approval and the legal operation of our mutual fund and securities-related offerings in the country. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of mutual fund distribution, regulatory obligations, and ethical standards of practice.
Job Description:
- Serve as the officially appointed Pejabat Penanggung Jawab APERD for Wahed’s mutual fund selling activities in Indonesia.
- Ensure full compliance with OJK regulations, particularly POJK No. 39/POJK.04/2014 and related provisions on the conduct of APERD.
- Supervise day-to-day operational and sales activities related to mutual fund distribution through digital platforms.
- Oversee the registration and conduct of Wahed’s sales agents in accordance with OJK requirements.
- Submit periodic reports and disclosures to OJK as required under prevailing regulations.
- Coordinate closely with Legal and Compliance teams on regulatory updates, audit readiness, and internal control frameworks.
- Represent Wahed in regulatory engagements with OJK, industry associations (e.g., Asosiasi Pelaku Reksa Dana dan Investasi Indonesia – APRDI, Perkumpulan Agen Penjual Efek Reksadana Online – PAPERDO) and other relevant stakeholders.
- Uphold the integrity of Shariah-compliant financial practices in line with the company’s values and Indonesian regulatory guidelines.
Job Specifications:
- Must hold a valid WAPERD license (Wakil Agen Penjual Efek Reksa Dana) issued by OJK, have WMI / WPPE is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in selling mutual fund products in Indonesia, with a strong preference for experience through digital platforms such as mobile applications and web-based investment portals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or other relevant fields.
- Familiarity with S-Invest (KSEI) and OJK regulatory systems.
- Strong understanding of APERD operations and Shariah-compliant investment products.
- Excellent communication skills Bahasa Indonesia and English (both written and spoken).
- Experience in the financial services industry (e.g., Asset Management, APERD, FinTech).
- Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High ethical standards and commitment to Islamic financial principles.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Must be based in Jakarta and available full-time with no concurrent employment.
