We’re looking for a Product Development Manager who is ready to help build what’s next, turning insights into products that raise the standard for our consumers.
Job Description
The Product Development Manager (PD) supports the product development lifecycle, helping guide projects through formulation, packaging, costing, and commercialization. They track market trends, identify opportunities, and work closely with leaders across Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product Supply, and Innovation. The PD ensures products meet quality and compliance standards while managing timelines, budgets, and communications with internal teams and suppliers.
This independent contributor works closely with co-manufacturers, including identifying them, vetting them, and serving as the liaison throughout the product development process. They also partner with cross-functional teams to apply consumer learnings to product development.
In addition, the PD drives the packaging execution process for both new and existing products. This includes coordinating packaging design improvements, updating claims and copy, and collaborating with designers to refine artwork. While not a graphic artist, this person must bring an eye for style, strong attention to detail, and the ability to shepherd packaging iterations through the approval process across Design, Marketing, and Sales.
Success requires someone who is resourceful, detail-oriented, execution-focused and able to move quickly, manage dependencies, and adapt effectively in a fast-moving environment.

- Track and manage project budgets, COGs, and margins in collaboration with cross-functional leaders
Packaging Execution
- Coordinate packaging updates for both new and existing products, including design improvements, copy updates, and artwork refinements.
- Support packaging design improvements by coordinating feedback and ensuring updates reflect BEVEL’s elevated brand standards.
- Coordinate packaging approvals across PS, Sales, Marketing, and other designated stakeholders.
Research & Consumer Insights
- Partner with cross-functional consumer insights teams to leverage consumer learnings.
- Conduct competitive brand audits and in-depth product testing for benchmarking.
- Track market trends and competitive activity to provide input into product development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Go-to-Market
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, eCommerce, and Innovation to support go-to-market activities and help translate consumer insights into product positioning, packaging, and communication plans.
Project Management
- Draft and maintain project briefs, specifications, and supporting documentation to guide product development and ensure alignment across cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables using project management tools (e.g., Asana).
- Other ad hoc projects as assigned.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field is required; (MBA preferred).
- 5-7 years of product management experience in grooming, beauty, or broader CPG.
- Experience working with co-manufacturers/contract manufacturing partners.
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in grooming/beauty.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills grounded in consumer needs and data.
- Hands-on project management skills, with experience using modern PM tools.
Skills & Traits
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, with a strong bias toward action and experimentation.
- Self-starter who is resourceful, detail-oriented, and resilient in the face of uncertainty.
- Collaborative communicator who thrives in highly cross-functional settings.
- Execution-focused thinker able to bring strategy to life via hands-on delivery.
- Able to manage multiple projects and tasks of varying complexity through effective time management.
