Are you highly organized, proactive, and ready to make an impact? We’re looking for an Administrative & Business Development Support Specialist to join our growing DC/Maryland/Virginia team in Rockville, MD.
In this role, you’ll be at the center of our office operations—helping things run smoothly, supporting business development initiatives, and ensuring our team can focus on what they do best. From coordinating client pursuits to keeping the office on track, you’ll play a vital role in driving our success across the region.

We’re looking for a candidate with a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience in administrative, client support, and/or business development roles—someone who’s excited to bring ideas, organization, and energy to our team.
What You’ll Do
Business Development Support
- Research potential clients, industry trends, and market opportunities.
- Maintain and update client and prospect information in our CRM system.
- Help train and support staff in using the CRM effectively.
-Assist with preparing polished client-facing presentations, proposals, and materials.
- Create reports and data extracts to support marketing and BD efforts.
- Support outreach campaigns and follow-up communications with prospects.
- Track and report BD activity, pipeline progress, and results.
- Search for RFPs/RFQs and compile opportunities for the team.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other teams on pursuit efforts.
- Research and track networking events and coordinate team participation.
- Support staff with social media content and scheduling.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Edit, format, and proofread key documents for accuracy and consistency.
-Build templates and streamline document preparation for project teams.
- Support accounts receivable and contract compliance tracking.
- Keep office operations running smoothly: supplies, mail, shipping, and logistics.
- Arrange travel and coordinate events for staff as needed.
- Assist with special projects, management reports, and confidential documents.
- Support leadership and staff with expense reports and general admin needs.
What You Bring
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in administrative, client support, or business development roles.
- High-level multitasking with strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to balance and prioritize competing deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong proofreading ability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with CRM tools a plus.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple tasks across teams.
- Strong research and data management skills.
- Ability to lift 20+ pounds (for occasional supply handling/shipping tasks).
- A proactive team player with a flexible, can-do attitude.
- Flexibility and ability to respond to changing schedules and priorities under the pressure of time deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
At Walker Consultants, we are committed to maintaining fairness and equity in our pay practices. For this role, the estimated base salary range is $60,000 – $80,000 per year. The final salary offered may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law.
