The Technical Product Owner will work closely with our Product team to design and drive development of customer-focused products and solutions. Technical Product Owners at WANdisco are expected to make independent product decisions, finding creative solutions to problems while striking the right balance between customer requests and business requirements.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding, prioritizing, and defining new product features as well as maintaining an effective product backlog and ensuring delivered features meet agreed acceptance criteria. The Technical Product Owner will continuously work to improve delivery processes and be a key player in defining WANdisco's wider product strategy.

Key Qualifications

    • 3+ years of product experience in software or technology
    • Certified Product Owner or equivalent experience
    • Experience delivering products in an Agile development environment using Scrum or similar
    • Ability to define Agile requirements (epics, stories) including functional/technical criteria
    • Ability to assess and prioritize delivery of customer value
    • Familiarity with most of the following: Cloud Storage (Azure, AWS, GCP), Big Data Analytics (ASF Hadoop, Cloudera, Databricks), DevOps, Networking, Linux, Docker, Containers, Kubernetes, RESTful APIs, Authentication, Git and other tools relevant to our work
    • A proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to rapid industry change
    • Ability to drive non-functional aspects of application design such as localization, reliability, performance, security, serviceability, and scalability
    • Start-up mentality with solid business acumen and desire to innovate in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to effectively work across teams and geographies in a highly collaborative global environment


    • Support and collaborate with Product Management colleagues to discover, define, evaluate and iterate on customer requirements
    • Distill high-level business requirements into clearly-defined technical user stories and acceptance criteria, ready for consumption by Scrum development teams
    • Drive delivery of technical solutions through research, investigation and application of technical knowledge surrounding WANdisco products
    • Define requirements that resolve customer problems and address new opportunities
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish overall product vision and validate solution designs
    • Drive changes to processes and tooling which enable quick and reliable software delivery that unlocks value for customers
    • Partner with UX Designers to ensure requirements are captured and delivered to spec
    • Support Solution Architects and Customer Success in exploring new ways of applying WANdisco Fusion
    • Analyze root cause of issues, identify resolution and define risk mitigation actions
    • Monitor market trends, gather feedback from stakeholders and customers, and conduct research to support future innovation and development


    • Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
