WANdisco’s Technical Publications team provides high quality, user-centric content including crafting clear, concise, and purposeful product user guides, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
 
The team believes having the right content in the right place at the right time is key to the success of our products. We strive to understand our users’ business needs and provide useful, accurate content to help them migrate data and metadata at scale from source to target environments with zero downtime.
 
Reporting to the Manager of Technical Publications, the successful candidate will be working in an established team whose mission is to empower customers to accomplish their goals and get the most from using WANdisco’s data migration applications.
 
Working in an Agile (scrum) software development environment, the Technical Content Developer is an advocate for different end users of our products, responsible for creating and maintaining documentation, scripting and recording short e-learning videos to support latest product features coming to market.
 
This role is hybrid out of either our Belfast or our Sheffield office.

Key Qualificaitons

    • 2+ years of experience creating customer-facing multimedia (text and video) content in enterprise or cloud software environments.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to build working relationships with coworkers across time zones and locations.
    • Experience using Markdown, HTML, Linux, and Git.
    • Experience producing e-learning videos.
    • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Description

    • Work closely with product owners, designers, engineers, and customer support to produce, plan, and maintain user-facing help content tailored to a range of audiences.
    • Collaborate with product owners and other stakeholders to continuously improve existing documentation based on customer feedback and user research.
    • Script, record, and produce short e-learning videos to support potential and existing customers in onboarding with new product features..
    • Create helpful, scalable documentation and short videos for people learning to use WANdisco's products and cloud services.
    • Test preview product features with the goal of documenting and providing product feedback from a user perspective.
    • Implement quality assurance processes including peer and SME reviews of content for technical and stylistic accuracy, as well as contributing to creating and maintaining a company style guide.
    • Communicate with teams and stakeholders across WANdisco about user feedback, product direction and vision, and technical product information to inform the documentation the team creates.
    • Contribute to the iteration of the team’s processes and workflows.

Additional Requirements (desirable)

    • Experience using Jira or similar project management tools to track work requests and progress desirable.
    • Knowledge and experience of big data is an advantage.

Education

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
