As a Sr. DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with the scrum teams to deliver continuous integration and continuous deployment/delivery processes, tools, and infrastructure to enable faster, safer and secure code releases.
DevOps team is responsible for supporting, automating, administrating, and optimizing mission-critical engineering environments, leveraging source control management, configuration management, DevOps, and CI/CD pipeline design. Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strengths, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments.
Responsibilities
- Work with scrum teams and software engineers to build application services that power our core products
- Provide proactive support to the teams for environments hosted on-prem and in clouds
- Manage and deploy our core cloud infrastructure components
- Expand, improve, and optimize WANdisco build structure, custom tools and release automated processes
- Script with development tools such as GIT, Jenkins
- Code in python with emphasis on writing modular, scalable code
- Examine and implement new cloud tools to improve our DevOps processes and monitoring
Key Qualifications
- Ideal candidate would have strong background in Linux administration
- Skills in any of scripting languages such python, bash, groovy, or ruby
- Experience with configuration management (puppet, ansible) and source code management (git, gerrit)
- Experience with databases
- Experience with Jenkins and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies
Additional Consideration
- Experience with the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCS, Swift, etc)
- Experience and knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Zookeeper, HBase, Hive, Spark, etc)
- Experience and knowledge of Hadoop distributions (CDH, HDP, etc)
- Experience in debugging Java applications.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
