The Technical Product Owner will work closely with our Product Management team in delivering prioritized, high-quality, customer-focused product improvements. The ideal candidate will be expected to make independent product decisions, find creative solutions to problems and will be a key player in defining WANdisco’s wider product strategy.
Key Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Product Management required
- Experience in Hadoop and/or Cloud systems and applications, one of each is preferred
- Solid technical background with hands on experience with software development
- Passionate about continually improving and innovating current products
- Excellent communication and analytical skills with proven ability to negotiate with clients and internal stakeholders
- Ability to split stories to deliver in small increments
- Experience with technical and public documentation
- Ability to refine and prioritize work according to business values and the needs of the Engineering team
- Experience with Java is a plus
- Product owner or manager qualification a desirable
- High energy and ownership, proactive with ability to learn new domains to get the job done
Responsibilities
- Assist in defining, developing, and executing product roadmap through delivery/releases by prioritizing backlogs
- Confident at leading product discovery initiatives to validate business goals, strategy and future product direction.
- Leverage analytics, customers feedback, research to envision and propose product improvements
- Serve as a scrum product owner for multiple development teams, which includes responsibilities such as story creations, success criteria and feature prioritizations
- Sync with fellow product owners to resolve conflicts and plan releases
- Communicate and present functionality in new releases of the product
- Provide vision of complete product from backend to frontend and user experience
- Review and drive clear and accurate product documentation
- Collaborate in various discussions with stakeholders and push back when needed
- Provide clear and actionable direction to your scrum teams
- Effectively communicate strategies and trade-offs to senior leaders and also be able to hold a technical discussion with the development teams
- Offer optimization solutions to processes and technology and appropriately drive it into engineering development
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, and presentations
- Review and approve the design and quality of engineering deliverables
- Program Management – juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines, deliver results
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
