Role Description: Director, Product Marketing  
 
Role Purpose: 
 
As the Director of Product Marketing, you will lead a dynamic team of product marketers to drive the success of Wasabi through strategic positioning, compelling messaging, and effective go-to-market strategies. You will be responsible for not only shaping the company's product marketing strategy but also for fostering the growth and development of your team members, ensuring their success and alignment with overall company objectives.

Responsibilities:

    • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of product marketers, providing guidance, support, and feedback to help them grow in their roles and achieve their professional goals. 
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values creativity, innovation, and continuous learning. 
    • Set clear goals and expectations for team members, and regularly evaluate their performance and progress. 
    • Strategy Development:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, sales, and executive leadership to develop and refine product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies. 
    • Ensure alignment between product marketing initiatives and overall company objectives, fostering a unified approach across departments. 
    • Content Creation and Campaign Management:
    • Oversee the creation of compelling marketing collateral, including sales enablement materials, product documentation, website content, case studies, whitepapers, and presentations. 
    • Collaborate with the demand generation team to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and demand for our products 
    • Sales Enablement:
    • Partner with sales leadership to understand the needs and challenges of the sales team and develop sales enablement programs and resources to support their success. 
    • Provide product training and support to sales teams, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively sell our products in the market. 
    • Market Intelligence:
    • Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs through ongoing market research and analysis. 
    • Use market insights to inform product roadmap decisions, pricing strategies, and go-to-market approaches, and share relevant insights with cross-functional teams. 
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Foster strong relationships and collaboration with product management, engineering, sales, and executive teams to ensure alignment and coordination across departments. 
    • Serve as a liaison between marketing and other departments to ensure consistent messaging and execution of go-to-market strategies. 

Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred. 
    • 7+ years of experience in product marketing and management roles within the technology industry. 
    • A proven track record of success in driving product (SaaS, IaaS) adoption and revenue growth. 
    • Experience and knowledge with public cloud services (i.e. AWS, Azure, GCP). 
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams. 
    • Basic understanding of reseller/channel business models. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. 
    • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies and plans. 
    • Passion for technology and innovation, with a deep understanding of technology products and markets.
