About the Position
The Demand Generation Manager is a critical role in the development, execution, and optimization of WatchGuard’s digital marketing strategy. This role will not only develop and drive the demand generation strategy for our global audiences and channels but will also lead the team responsible for the execution and optimization of this strategy as well.

The Demand Generation Manager will work closely with other members of the marketing organization, including product marketing, field marketing, digital marketing, channel marketing and marketing ops. This role will ensure alignment between the content and campaigns created by the product and channel marketing teams and the go-to-market strategy that will be leveraged by field to drive pipeline.

The Demand Generation Manager is responsible for managing third party vendors, and working with marketing and sales operations on the reporting of the performance of programs, channels and tactics to drive optimization.
This role will have three direct reports:

-        Demand Generation Coordinator who owns WatchGuard’s webinar program for demand generation and existing partners, review sites and marketing program emails
-        Sr. ABX Specialist who owns administration for core ABX platforms including 6sense, Folloze and Reachdesk, executes our digital advertising through 6sense and LinkedIn, and develops segmentation for reporting, programs and go-to-market plays
-        Marketing Manager responsible for our global partner recruitment marketing strategy
This role reports to the Director of Demand Generation Programs, who also oversees the organization’s business development and sales enablement teams. This team rolls into the broader revenue marketing team, creating a perfect mix of sales, digital marketing, ABX, operations, and field marketing expertise. You’ll be guaranteed to learn from these diverse perspectives, grow in your understanding of global business practices and needs, and have a lot of fun along the way.

A Day in the Life
No two days for the Demand Generation Manager will be the same. This role will have the opportunity to develop and optimize the strategy of the demand generation motion to support our core marketing programs, go to market plays and quarterly content topics. That will include working hand-in-hand with our product marketing team to coordinate current themes, assets, messaging and align that to our demand generation programs, channels and tactics.

You’ll meet with our field marketing teams to review program coverage in their regions and address any additional efforts or needs they may have. You’ll meet with the channel marketing and partner recruitment teams to discuss strategies on third-party sites like CRN. You’ll have bi-weekly check-ins with our Paid Digital team to coordinate on our global PPC and SEM strategy and ensure regular optimization of that program.

Each week, you’ll have a 1:1 with your direct reports to get updated on projects and understand any blockers. You’ll also meet weekly with the Director of Demand Generation Programs to escalate any challenges and blockers and discuss the strategy for the next go-to-market play.

You’ll also regularly meet with marketing ops, the digital marketing team and advertising vendors to analyze program, channel and tactic performance which will be leveraged for senior marketing leadership read outs and optimization actions.
Each week will also provide several opportunities to network and get to know the management team and your fellow WatchGuardians through Coffee Talk sessions, Department Insights events, and a variety of virtual networking events.

Within one month, you will…

    •  Get the lay of the land in terms of our current programs, go-to-market plays, channels and tactics
    • Get to know the team including marketing ops, field marketing, product marketing and channel marketing teams 

Within three months, you will…

    • Take ownership of program reporting and optimization
    • Join our marketing leadership team and begin coordinating with other teams within the marketing department
    • Being working on your first demand generation plan for a go-to-market play

Within six months, you will…

    • Lead your first Senior Marketing Leadership demand generation read-out
    • Take ownership of all go-to-market plays, programs and partner recruitment

Skills and Qualifications

    • Strategic thinking and ability to align content to audiences, channels and tactics
    • Tactical knowledge of SEM, PPC, digital marketing, content syndication, paid social advertising, etc.
    • Understanding of Account-based Experience best practices and processes
    • Proficient in using tools like Marketo, 6sense, Folloze, Reachdesk or similar platforms
    • Experience managing 3rd Party sites including TrustRadius, G2, CRN, TechTarget, etc. 

Experience

    • Minimum of 7 years prior experience in marketing or channel marketing
    • Prior experience with technology, cybersecurity solutions is a plus
    • Experience developing and implementing digital demand generation plans that include measurements of success
    • Sharp marketing skills in building creative and effective presentations, emails, webinars, and other assets
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines under pressure and ability to work on in a dynamic environment.
    • Self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and a strong sense of accountability, teamwork, and passion
    • Strong project management skills
    • Ability to build relationships with peers, resellers and customers
    • Excellent written and verbal skills, proven effective communication skills
    • Experience with ABX tools, database management, marketing operations (Marketo) and CRM (Salesforce) tools
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 USD per year, exclusive of benefits. This position is also eligible for a bonus of 5% of the base salary. Your base salary compensation will be based on your individual skills, education, and experience. Please keep in mind that the above range is the full base salary range for this role; hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth.
