The Role
The Junior Designer is an evolving Product Designer that will support the design team in developing product across all Waterworks categories - Fittings, Fixtures, Lighting, Hardware and other Accessories - encompassing a range of mediums, including metal, wood, stone and ceramics.
This individual has an inherent passion for design, strong aesthetic and seeks creative growth as a product designer in the luxury interior design and architecture space.

This is a hybrid requiring a minimum of 2 days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday) at Waterworks Corporate Support Center, Danbury CT for team collaboration. (Accessible by Metro North Railroad from New York City, approx. 90 min.)

Primary Responsibilities

    • Ideation, gathering references and building moodboards to support product concept phase and effectively communicate design intent
    • Create product sketches of concepts, execute design studies and comparative research within existing Waterworks product portfolio
    • Solidworks modeling, including updating existing models and proliferating design language across a collection
    • Product rendering, including ability to execute environment and lighting set ups to facilitate design concept renderings
    • Design project organization, including tracking of project timelines to meet design deadlines
    • Accountable for taking design meeting notes to track progress and provide accurate reference of design progression and approvals
    • Liaise with Product Management and Engineering teams on project deliverables
    • Other responsibilities as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or related design field
    • 1-3 years design experience, preferably with an in-house design team
    • Proficiency in Solidworks, Keyshot and Adobe Creative Suite
    • Hand sketching skills to complement CAD proficiency
    • Experience with the design of a technical, complex product beneficial
    • Luxury product or brand experience beneficial
    • Excellent collaboration skills with an ability to receive constructive feedback and contribute to design discussion
    • Highly organized and ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing priorities
    • Experience with Smartsheet beneficial
    • Portfolio required
$58,000 - $70,000 a year

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Waterworks may require physical requirements within its Showroom locations as follows:
Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 25 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques. Ability to maneuver effectively around showroom floor, stock room and office. Position could entail periods of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing. Licensed to drive preferred. Ability to travel locally or out of state.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, pull/push, climb and balance, and to be elevated up to 20 feet in the air on harnessed equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 110 pounds with assistance from one other Associate and use of proper technique. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
