Originally founded in 1991 as Harlem RBI, DREAM has grown to annually serve more than 2,500 youth across East Harlem and the South Bronx through a network of seven PreK-12, extended-day, extended-year DREAM Charter Schools and community sports-based youth development programs. Reporting to the Out of School Time and Athletics Director (OAD), the Instructional Operations Assistant will support our program leadership with attendance tracking, family communication, materials management, expense tracking, and program events planning.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about education programming and may be interested in working in school operations and administration. 

Responsibilities

    • Support the OAD with student files, attendance tracking, and family outreach;
    • Support education specialist with management of academic, enrichment, and social emotional learning curriculum;
    • Manage expense tracking and procurement as necessary;
    • Provide logistical support for planning and executing program events & field trips;
    • Support data collection including academic assessments, SEL and satisfaction surveys;
    • Manage and organize materials and supplies to ensure efficiency in distribution;
    • Support individuals and groups of youth and chaperone field trips, as needed.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required, college enrollment or degree, preferred;
    • Ability to read and write in Spanish and fluency in spoken Spanish, strongly preferred;
    • Experience working in an administrative capacity preferred;
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
    • Must be a self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills;
    • Competency in Google Suite and word processing ;
    • Able to perform duties promptly and professionally with accuracy and confidentiality;
    • Must be able to work in-person at the program site during program hours;
    • A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM, including the desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community.

    • Start date: 6/17/24
    • End date: 08/02/2024
    • Days & hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
    • Dates and hours are subject to change

Compensation

    • DREAM offers competitive compensation. The hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour.
