Volunteers and Interns
DREAM (formerly known as DREAM Charter School and Harlem RBI), is an innovative educational and youth development organization, serving over 2,500 East Harlem and South Bronx youth by providing free, high-quality summer and after-school programs to youth ages 5-22 years in an intensive multi-year commitment that connects youth and families to age-appropriate programs and passionate professional staff over time.

Become a Virtual Tutor!

We are excited to share that DREAM will be launching a Virtual Tutoring Program as part of our continued commitment to supporting scholars in this new learning environment. Tutoring will take place twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5pm. Tutoring sessions will be held via Zoom in small groups of 2-3 students and to work with students on assignments teachers gave the class that week.

As with everything we do, our scholars' comfort and safety is paramount. To that end, a school staff member will be monitoring each session, dropping in to help answer questions as needed, and tutoring will always be in small groups, never one-on-one.

Tutor Role

    • Tutors provide home work and classwork assignment support. Tutors work with youth in small groups to help improve student success in class, increase subject-specific retention, and contribute to overall academic development.
    • Complete session notes to update grade teams on student progress within tutoring.
    • Hours: Weekly Tuesday or Thursday session, 4- 5pm.
