Originally founded in 1991 as Harlem RBI, DREAM has grown to annually serve more than 2,500 youth across East Harlem and the South Bronx through a network of seven PreK-12, extended-day, extended-year DREAM Charter Schools and community sports-based youth development programs. The DREAM Student Recruitment team is looking for part-time support with generating new applications for our East Harlem, Mott Haven and Highbridge campuses. Reporting to the Director of Student Recruitment, Student Recruitment Support staff will be given weekly assignments to execute as part of the student recruitment strategy. Ideal team members will enjoy talking to new people, have both a love for and deep knowledge of DREAM schools and be comfortable with data entry.

Responsibilities

    • Student Recruitment Support - Family Outreach and Data Entry staff will:
    • Make phone calls to prospective families;
    • Enter applications in DREAM’s database;
    • Record call outcomes in a tracker.

Qualifications

    • Can effectively communicate with prospective families over the phone and serve as a positive ambassador for DREAM;
    • Proficient in spoken Spanish, preferred;
    • Ability to make calls primarily between the hours of 5-8pm;
    • Some weekend availability to make calls, preferred;
    • Customer service orientation;
    • Effective time management and ability to prioritize;
    • Ability to keep information organized in order to complete tasks in a timely manner;
    • Ability to enter data accurately and in a timely manner;
    • Ability to learn and accurately use databases;
    • Familiarity with SchoolMint, preferred;
    • A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM, including the belief that all students can succeed, and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community.

Commitment

    • Start date: March 1, 2025
    • End date: June 30, 2025
    • Hours and schedule: 
    • Approximately 20 hours per week, must be available on weekends and between 5-8pm on weekdays.

Compensation

    • DREAM offers competitive compensation. The hourly rate for this position is $20 per hour.
