About the team:
The Media Team is at the centre of Web Summit, making sure that everyone knows about our events across the world. They are the gatekeepers of the Web Summit brand. They create innovative and unique campaigns to communicate Web Summit events and the company behind the events. They work with media from international outlets such as Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and BBC on a daily basis, making sure that they have all the most up to date news from Web Summit events. They work closely with the marketing and speakers teams to ensure that everything is aligned when it comes to communicating the brand to the world.
What you’ll achieve at Web Summit:
- You'll actively attract and secure top global media attendees to our events, specifically for Web Summit Qatar.
- You’ll champion Web Summit’s global events to MENA Media outlets, securing their participation.
- You'll work with our talented media team in coordinating and planning world class events for our media attendees.
- You'll support and mentor team members in delivering high-calibre experiences for over 2000 media, and share your knowledge of the MENA media landscape.
- You’ll attend our conferences and assist the media team in facilitating our media attendees' needs, maximising their experience and WebSummit’s exposure.
- You’ll improve processes and procedures in media administration, looking at automation and streamlining day-to-day tasks, relevant to your region.
- You'll manage updates to the media section of the Web Summit Media website, working with in-house teams and marketing managers.
- You'll be responsible for managing the logistics for our top-tier media and ensuring their schedules are on point for the event.
- You'll manage the interview requests for our top speakers, investors, and partners.
Skills and abilities we're looking for:
- 5+ years of Media experience, specifically in the MENA Market.
- Fluent level of English and Arabic is a must have.
- An extensive contacts list for all the most prominent media partners in MENA, particularly in tech and entertainment.
- Ability to attract, sell, and partner with MENA’s top Media outlets, understanding their unique needs, and delivering on them.
- Strong writing skills are a bonus
- High attention to detail in everything you do.
- Ability to prioritise and think outside of the box.
- Ability to work effectively alone, but also as part of a distributed media team.
- Experience of working in events.
- Salesforce experience is a plus but not essential.
