Automotive Terminologist - English(GB) into Slovak

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB 
 
We are looking for an English GB into Slovak terminologist to join our existing pool for one global automotive client. They will take ownership of the incoming work on this account and actively contribute to the program's success. 
Providing feedback on terminology change requests from client subsidiaries and translation teams. Be able to sustain and produce reasons for terminology choices in the target language.

MAIN DUTIES

    • Creation of terms for new entries in the client’s terminology database missing Slovak designations, with supporting metadata. 
    • Maintenance of existing target terms when there are changes at the concept level that might require changes.
    • Answer SK terminology queries resulting from feedback received from the market.
    • Collaboration with client’s validators and translation teams to choose the appropriate terms to describe certain concepts.
    • Content types: {automotive, motors, automobile terminology}  
    • CAT Tool: working with XTM
    • Expected capacity month: this job is paid by the hour
    • As a terminologist on this account will need to have evidence of previous terminology work. You do not need to "translate" terms, you need to provide terms based on definitions and metadata. You will need to spend time researching official websites in order to find the most suitable term and also analyze the existing term set for Slovak in the terminology database.


REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Minimum years experience translating and reviewing content in the specified subject matter.   
    • Well-versed in various translation & terminology tools.
    • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written). 
    • Native fluency in the target language.  
    • Knowledge of the subject matter in which the terminology will be used: {automotive, motors, automobile terminology}
    • Knowledge of terminology principles and terminological work.
    • Familiarity with the use of terminology databases and terminology export files.
    • Ability to present reasoned and convincing arguments for proposed target terms.
    • Good research skills and ability to identify essential information to provide the best target equivalent for the source term provided.
    • Well-versed in various translation & CAT tools.
    • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written). Native fluency in the target language. 
    • Degree in linguistics, translation or equivalent experience.
    • Experience working in a multi-vendor scenario is a plus.
