We are currently seeking a Czech Language Moderator to ensure the highest standards of language quality assessment for a product/service-related project

They will take ownership of coordinating the existing team of linguists on the project while performing the following services: Quality Assessment, Language Moderation, and Quality Analysis. The needed availability is around 25 hours per month.

MAIN DUTIES

    • Acts as a point of contact between client's localization suppliers, Welocalize, and client's stakeholders to ensure effective communication and high language quality standards.
    • Engages in direct and effective communication with client Points of Contact (POCs), ensuring clear and concise information exchange.
    • Leads complex discussions on linguistic matters with several stakeholders while maintaining a professional and collaborative tone at all times. Communicates linguistic decisions to all localization stakeholders. This might be in written communication, round table virtual meetings, phone calls, meetings, or other formats.
    • Updates and maintains reference materials such as Translation Memories (TMs), Style Guides, and Glossaries, ensuring accuracy and consistency in linguistic assets.
    • Answers linguistic queries pertaining to linguistic style, translation rationale, content suitability, and workflow constraints.
    • Analyzes linguistic feedback from SMEs, end users, etc. against agreed upon linguistic approach.
    • Completes linguistic assessments of the translation of TEP teams. Is the owner of all updates to reference materials (TMs, TDs and Language Guides). The updates may be suggested by any of the parties involved (client PMs, translators, LMs, etc.).

REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA), demonstrating a deep understanding of quality control processes.
    • Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation and/or equivalent experience in the technology industry.
    • Experience in facilitating regular calls with translation team to effectively discuss translation and terminology issues.
    • Experience in updating reference materials such as TMs/Style guides/Glossaries.
    • Experience in direct communications with client POCs.
    • Experience with computer-aided translation tools and systems. 
    • Adaptability and flexibility to learn and apply the client's required style and voice. 
    • Ability to perform these tasks remotely, but willing to travel to client's offices when needed.
