Job Profile Summary
 
The Language Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, tracking, delivery and closure of client projects. The Language Project Manager works with the global project managers and client to understand requirements and engages the production team in the fulfilment of these requirements, crafting client solutions based on the Welocalize Four Pillars of Customer Service, Quality, Innovation and Global Teamwork.

Job Description
 
MAIN DUTIES
 
The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership of Language Project Manager:
 
• Manage translation projects independently and effectively.
• Plan work allocation with most appropriate resources.
• Obtain all relevant project specifications and convey to production teams.
• Overseeing project activities and ensuring resolution to any problems that may arise (corrective and preventive action).
• Ensure the highest quality level of on-time deliveries in the given parameters.
• Manage the performance of production resources on specific projects, as well as client satisfaction and manage related feedback.
• Manage the project budget and spend. Work with the whole project team to meet target project margin.
• Risk analysis and contingency planning (plan-do-check-act cycle).
• Responsible for overall performance of internal & external resources, capacity planning, resource utilization, OTD, and quality.
• Support translation team, program squad, talent community team and quality team as needed.
• Process documentation and knowledge management.
• Lead client communications when necessary.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
Education & Experience
 
• Experience in translation, project management or customer services preferred.
• Familiarity with terminology glossaries, Trados, or any other translation memory or translation management tools.
• A keen interest in its technology, process, competitive landscape, and emerging trends is welcomed.
• Fluency in written and verbal English is a must.
• An additional foreign language in Japanese is welcomed, but not essential
• Good technical mindset.
• Ability to acquire proficiency in new processes and tools
• Coach team members, internal and external resources on project related processes and tools
• Adept at data literacy; ability to understand and utilize data to make decisions of moderate complexity.
• Strong computer literacy, MS Office, e-mail, internet etc.
• Minimum of a BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
