JOB DESCRIPTION

We are Welocalize, one of the leading companies in the Translation and Localization industry and we currently have an amazing project for which we are looking for a Portuguese Proofreader with a native-level speaker from Portugal (Europe).

It is essential that your level of Portuguese is from Portugal and at a native level. As a proofreader and tester, you will be using devices to test a wide range of internal and external facing applications and tools.

You will be conducting test cases, identifying localization bugs (among other tasks), and reporting them via an internal bug tracking system as well as verifying the fixes once they have been implemented.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Native-level fluency in PORTUGUESE FROM PORTUGAL, which includes grammar, vocabulary, composition, and punctuation.
    • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
    • Experience working in translation is preferred
    • Tech-savvy, with experience testing web-based systems and applications on Mac OS X and iOS
    • Ability to prioritize linguistic issues and distinguish between a true must-fix and a nice-to-have
    • Experience working with test cases and test scripts
    • Experience with bug tracking systems
    • Ability to clearly articulate reproduction steps for a given issue and communicate critical information
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to work with very diverse and multicultural teams
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong team ethic 
Location: Onsite in Cupertino, CA 
Workweek: Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm / 35 hours per week (1 hour from 12-1 pm)
Salary: $35 per hour
Duration: Long-Term Project-based (ongoing)
W-2 employee, eligible for benefits based on hours worked
Must have a US work permit
