About the role

We are extending WeTransfer’s brand identity and we’re looking to grow the team to bring the brand to life through motion design; developing our motion language and delivering on a wide variety of briefs and opportunities that come into the Studio on a weekly and monthly basis.

We are seeking a passionate maker, with the talent and skills to convey information and emotion through motion graphic design and visual storytelling. Given the collaborative and sometimes fast-paced nature of the work, a structured approach is expected; always looking to evolve systems and processes. You are committed to continuously pushing the creative envelope and helping to ensure stylistic cohesion and consistency across projects—whether created internally or by external creative partners. 

You will be working closely with brand designers, copywriters, product designers, and motion design peers—playing a major role in establishing the craft within the Creative Studio and WeTransfer at large. You will report into a Senior Motion Designer that will act as a sounding board and mentor in your daily work and will help guide your career and professional growth. 

What you will be doing

    • Participating in the development of WeTransfer as a rich, multidimensional brand
    • Helping to define and scale a motion design system
    • Leveraging motion design to convey information while strengthening our audience’s visceral and emotional connection with WeTransfer
    • Working alongside our diverse team of creatives on a wide range of deliverables, from brand and project identities to explainer videos.
    • Taking responsibility for timely delivery and meeting high quality standards of the work

What you bring to the table:

    • A strong portfolio of work that showcases and demonstrates the creative qualifications for the role
    • 3+ years of working experience, at agencies or at a studio, and ideally some time spent going deeper into a single brand
    • Progressive and ahead of trends, embracing new technology and defining innovative ways to leverage time and motion to tell stories
    • Actively engaged with what’s happening in the world of arts & culture
    • Strong in storyboarding, pitching ideas, and presenting creative work in a compelling way
    • A team player, demonstrating positive and empowering behavior
    • Ability to translate briefs into great pieces of work
    • Broadly interested in motion design, ideally from brand identity building to UI (micro) animations

Hard requirements

    • Skilled in the essential tools of the trade; After Effects, Premiere, Audition, Illustrator, Photoshop. Ideally an interest or experience with 3D tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender
    • Basic understanding and proficiency in Figma
    • Excellent team and communication skills
    • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
