Role Intro
WeTransfer is looking for a Senior Internal Communications & Campaigns Specialist to work on a freelance or fixed-term basis until December 2022. Full-time and part-time arrangements considered, based on a minimum of 3 days per week. Hybrid working’s our thing – work from home and from our Amsterdam office.

Joining the PR & Comms team, and reporting to the Internal Communications Lead, you will coordinate the day-to-day flow of internal messages and moments, ensuring a steady drumbeat of company-wide communications, initiatives and events. This role is pacey, exciting and all about keeping our employees informed and engaged during a period of change and growth for WeTransfer.

Best part of the job? Working with (and for) our incredible community of 300+ employees and 70+ freelancers dotted around the world, and across our Amsterdam, LA, New York and London offices.

This hands-on role requires someone who can align to business strategies, set project goals, build relationships quickly, balance multiple projects and priorities, and create brilliant, on-brand content. You will help communicate change, show sensitivity towards confidential or complex matters, challenge the status quo and drive internal campaigns forward with authority and positive energy.

What we are looking for
We are looking for a super organized Senior Internal Communications and Campaigns Specialist with strong project management, creative campaign and content production experience. From launches and change campaigns, to company events (online and offline), you’ll be involved in a whole range of initiatives designed to inform, connect and inspire our employees working globally.

Working closely with colleagues across leadership, our creative studio, PR, HR, Corporate Social Responsibility, IT, Security, Product, Finance and Marketing, you will lead campaigns that positively contribute to our employee experience, champion our values and our BCorp status, and drive company growth.

As a senior specialist, you will be a confident and experienced communicator who leads impactful internal initiatives autonomously, understands how to strike the right tone, bring people along on the journey and measure results.
An internal comms expert, strong project coordinator, content creator and trusted business partner, you will own employee comms rituals and projects that require creative thinking, exceptional planning skills, knowledge of internal comms best practice, collaboration and the ability to influence our people at all levels.

What you will be doing:

Owning internal comms rituals and sharing expertise

    • Maintaining an internal comms calendar to ensure a steady drumbeat of updates, events and initiatives to engage employees.
    • Being the go-to person for some exciting projects and events in 2022.
    • Operating as a trusted business partner – building connections, leading catch-ups, providing sound expertise to teams on how & when to communicate to make the most impact.
    • Supporting teams to build high-level comms plans, timelines and key messages
    • Ensuring WeTransfer’s tone of voice, and personality shines through all internal content and messages, making the most of our subject experts and creative studio where needed to elevate comms and increase impact.

Producing All-Hands and other company-wide events (launches, fireside chats, speakers):

    • Maintaining the company-meets planning calendar and advising teams across the business on prime moments for their event
    • Coordinating presenters and topics ahead of time
    • Creating All-Hands decks, sourcing and sharing event content
    • Running rehearsals and coaching presenters where needed
    • Helping to deliver our events online and offline
    • Evaluating All-Hands to measure success and drive improvements
    • Working with the wider team to scope a new All-Hands/live events platform

Leading internal campaigns, projects and initiatives:

    • Taking a lead role on comms campaigns - working with teams across the business to scope, deliver and measure success.

Copywriting and content creation

    • Producing and reviewing written, visual, video, audio, events and experience-based content that champions creativity, our brand and tone of voice
    • Developing creative briefs for our in-house studio and external freelancers

    • Excellent English written and spoken communication skills.
    • 4-5 years’ experience in a dedicated internal communications, marketing or HR role focused on an internal audience or employee engagement.
    • Professional knowledge of internal communication channels and industry best-practice.
    • Highly organized and confident developing complex communication plans involving multiple channels and global teams.
    • You’re a pro when it comes to planning and collaboration tools that help keep everyone on track – owning a team calendar, a roadmap or a project status board? No problem!
    • Experience aligning to strategies, setting goals and using insights to inform future planning.
    • Experience advising senior stakeholders on confidential or sensitive topics.
    • A brand champion with an eye for design, and experience leading content creation briefs with in-house creatives, freelancers and agencies.
    • Experience of leading large-scale company culture, inclusion & diversity and social initiatives.
    • A trustworthy and reliable team player, who can operate independently with minimal guidance and direction.
    • Discretion, creativity, empathy and honesty are key values for this role.
    • WeTransfer is part of the creative community and so are you — broadly interested in tech, design and the arts.
WeTransfer is an equal opportunity employer and we pride ourselves on the diversity of our people. We welcome you, and everything that makes you—well, you. That includes your gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, or disability status.

A note on remote
Our work environment is hybrid-remote, meaning that we support our employees to work remotely and in the office. We encourage employees to decide for themselves and with their team whether or when to go to the office. However, we recommend that you don't come to the office more than 2-3 per week - since that wouldn't be hybrid anymore.

While it is not necessarily a determining or disqualifying factor for any role, you may be required to complete a standard employment background screening.
