This position demands a high-performing individual with proven expertise in the beauty industry, a broad product knowledge, a deep understanding of consumer behaviour, market dynamics and cultural shifts, and the ability to translate complex data and trend signals into clear, actionable and commercially relevant forecasts.  Working closely with the Head of Beauty Forecasting, you will execute WGSN’s beauty content strategy for Asia-Pacific and will represent the business as a trusted voice through client presentations, media engagement and industry events, while partnering closely with commercial teams to drive growth.

You will be part of WGSN’s global Beauty team — a collaborative group of forecasters, industry experts and analysts working across London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore and São Paulo. Together we deliver world-class beauty foresight, blending global intelligence with local expertise. Based in Hong Kong, you’ll play a critical role in embedding APAC perspectives into our global forecasts and strengthening WGSN’s commercial impact in the region.

Key accountabilities

    • Identify and forecast beauty trends across APAC markets and all beauty categories — including skincare, haircare, fragrance, wellness and colour cosmetics — with commercial and cultural relevance.
    • Apply WGSN’s forecasting methodology to analyse consumer behaviour, cultural shifts, product innovation and ingredient trends, translating signals into actionable foresight.
    • Execute the Beauty content strategy set by the Director of Beauty, ensuring forecasts and deliverables align with WGSN’s business goals, values and client needs.
    • Produce high-quality content across multiple medium — forecasts, reports, video, and presentations — that deliver clarity, authority and value for both regional and global clients.
    • Represent WGSN Beauty in Asia-Pacific through client presentations, webinars, workshops and industry events, acting as a trusted beauty authority in the region.
    • Partner with APAC commercial and account management teams to support client retention, strengthen relationships and unlock new business opportunities.
    • Ensure APAC perspectives and insights are embedded into global Beauty forecasts and beauty strategy, strengthening the reach and relevance of WGSN content.
    • Collaborate with cross-industry forecast teams (Fashion, Interiors, Lifestyle, Food & Drink, Consumer Tech) to deliver integrated forecasts and macro foresight for clients.

    • This list is not exhaustive and there may be other activities you are required to deliver.

Skills, experience & qualifications required

    • Deep expertise in the APAC beauty market, with strong knowledge of consumer behaviour, retail shifts, cultural influences and product innovation.
    • Proven experience (3+ years) in trend forecasting or related beauty industry roles such as product development, buying, marketing or editorial.
    • Exceptional analytical ability, with the skills to interpret complex qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns and forecast future trends and opportunities.
    • Strong writing and storytelling skills, able to translate data, cultural signals and market analysis into clear, compelling and commercially relevant forecasts.
    • Confident communicator and presenter, skilled at conveying complex ideas with clarity across diverse audiences, platforms and mediums.
    • Commercially minded, with the ability to partner closely with sales and account management teams to strengthen client relationships and drive growth.
    • Highly collaborative and effective across global teams and time zones, while also able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong knowledge of beauty brands, products, ingredients and innovations across APAC markets.
