As a Tech Lead on WHOOP’s Membership Experience Infrastructure (MXI) Team, you will work with your teammates and Product to enable support and services across the WHOOP company as a whole. You will grow and maintain the infrastructure and tools needed to support our internal customers. In addition, you will help your team excel in their goals by developing high impact features for use by WHOOP teams including membership services, engineering, marketing, sales and enterprise. You will not only participate in the technical direction and influence features alongside product management, design, and members of the leadership team but also facilitate career growth within your team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work collaboratively in a growth environment with a product engineering focus
    • Contribute to backend development using the following technologies: Java, Kafka, Postgres, Redshift, Cassandra, S3, and Kubernetes
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
    • Initiate, coordinate, and develop measured solutions to set up MXI for success in the long-run
    • Empathize with internal customers and understand where the team can have the most impact
    • Attract and recruit talent to continue building the team

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 4+ years of Full Stack or Backend experience
    • Deep expertise in Java or another modern object-oriented programming language such as Python
    • Experience in a modern web frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
    • Strong knowledge of database query language such as SQL
    • Integrated and created RESTful APIs and has used webhooks for triggers
    • Good understanding of network infrastructure (load balancing, cluster management, etc.)
    • Willingness to be both a team player and an owner working cross functionally

DESIRED:

    • Experience in leveraging APIs from various sources similar to Stripe, Salesforce, Zendesk, Shopify or similar integrations to enable business analytics
    • Knowledge of best practices for metrics and monitoring using Segment.io, Datadog, or other similar solutions to proactively make product and engineering decisions
    • Interacted with data visualization solutions such as Tableau or Looker
