As background, WHOOP has raised over $100M in venture capital including a recent Series D and has around 150 employees, based in Boston. 

WHOOP is seeking a dynamic strategist who will join us in the role of Chief Financial Officer appropriate for our stage and growth. As CFO, you’ll partner closely with the CEO and lead the financial planning and accounting functions of the company, guiding the organization through a rapid stage of growth and the road ahead.  The CFO will also be responsible for coordination across a diverse range of management stakeholders, continuously improving and scaling the success of WHOOP. The CFO will assist with forward looking goals and drive capital allocation strategy, modeling, forecasting, and budgeting to align.  You will assist with the vetting, coordination, and execution of strategic acquisitions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions at WHOOP
    • Reporting to the CEO, partner with the WHOOP Management team on long term strategic planning 
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with members of the WHOOP management table to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions
    • Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
    • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and identify business opportunities
    • Comply with international, federal, state, and local financial requirements by in tandem with the Legal function of WHOOP
    • Maintain financial updates to WHOOP investors and shareholders as needed
    • Analyze and conduct strategic acquisitions
    • Facilitate future round of financings and capital raises
    • Prepare Board of Director materials and attend Board meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably at hyper-growth tech companies 
    • Expert level Excel skills and an appetite to use them, particularly as it relates to financial planning and analysis/modeling 
    • Experience taking a company through IPO, and the ability to assess if and when the company is ready to take each step along the way
    • Strong experience in prospecting, identifying and vetting potential acquisitions 
    • Working experience, or strong knowledge of subscription-based businesses and hardware-based businesses
    • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
    • Strong leadership and communication skills
    • Master’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance 
    • As a job requirement, the qualified candidate must be prepared to maintain a physical presence in the Boston HQ office for the majority of the standard work week
