We are seeking a motivated Plant Health Care Technician that is a team player and is interested in continuing to develop their career and benefit the careers of their coworkers.  For this position we will consider a range of experience from experienced technicians to recent graduates in horticulture, forestry or a related field.

Responsibilities:

    • Diagnosis and treatment of trees and shrubs to improve general health and manage pests
    • Apply wide variety of treatment applications including high volume spray rig, trunk injections, foliar spray, basil drench, air spading and other.
    • Ensures compliance with PPE standards all safety and pesticide regulations.
    • Operate and maintain equipment used to apply Plant Health Care treatments. 
    • Properly mix, handle and store materials safely. 
    • Keep records by following company standards and local state regulations. 
    • Identify additional plant health care opportunities while out in field.
    • Maintain communication with Manager and Sales Arborist.  

Qualifications:

    • “Can do” attitude and fits in well with a team.  High integrity.
    • Ability to identify local trees and shrubs and diagnose signs and symptoms of common pests.
    • Ability to understand product labels and directions 
    • Math skills to accurately calculate mix ratios for applications 
    • Effective communicator and educator for both our clients and team.
    • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
    • Experience driving (and backing up) commercial vehicles with trailers. 
    • NC Pesticide Applicators license or willingness to obtain one with company support
    • Degree in a plant health care related field a plus
    • Certified Arborist a plus (company can provide support to obtain certification)
