About This Role
We are looking for an experienced SEO to join the VacationRenter team as Head of Organic Growth. You will be working directly with the product org — a world-class team of engineers, designers, and marketers (Social + PR) — to build user experiences and pages for the organic search intent, as well as necessary pages and architectural adjustments for the search engine crawlers and indexation algorithms. Additionally, you will define and execute SEO and PR strategies across our business to drive new organic user acquisition and build site authority.

This is a unique opportunity for the right SEO to work with company leadership and achieve long-term revenue growth from organic channels.

Role & Responsibilities

    • Reviewing and analyzing website for areas that can be improved and optimized both contextually and technically 
    • Regular reporting of organic search performance
    • Work closely with PR and content teams to build authority through link building
    • Identifying powerful content strategies to drive the most valuable traffic
    • Organic landing page optimizations
    • Internal linking strategies and specification development to implement
    • Collaborating with SEM team on mutually beneficial site enhancements
    • Working with Product and Engineering to prioritize work based on business impact
    • Competitive reporting to understand strengths and gaps of the VR site
    • Staying up to date on industry trends, practices, and changes

Requirements

    • 5+ years experience in content marketing, content growth, and SEO
    • Excellent knowledge of search engine optimization practices
    • Outstanding ability to think creatively, strategically, and identify and resolve problems
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work within a team and independently
    • Expert with Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog
    • Experience with website optimization tools
    • Experience with developing content strategies
    • Experience with writing development and design specifications
    • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
    • Ability to size and prioritize work based on business impact

Preferred Qualifications & Prior Experience

    • Prior experience at a startup or in the travel industry
    • Prior experience working on search experience products
    • Prior experience managing 3rd party integrations
    • Comfort with Analytics platforms; ideal if experienced with Mixpanel
