About the Position
The Marketing Communications Strategist plays a key role in shaping and executing Williamsburg Learning’s marketing campaigns and customer communications. This hybrid strategist-generalist role combines marketing strategy, copywriting, user experience, and campaign execution. The Strategist creates compelling, empathetic messaging that resonates with parents and students, while ensuring campaigns are cohesive, timely, and effective across all channels.
This role requires both strategic insight and hands-on execution. The Strategist will plan and deliver full-funnel campaigns (awareness → enrollment → onboarding), write persuasive copy for multiple platforms, and collaborate with design and operations peers to ensure high-quality execution. Success depends on balancing creativity with detail, speed with quality, and leveraging both human insight and AI tools to improve efficiency and impact.
Essential Duties
- Marketing Campaigns: Plan, execute, and analyze full-funnel campaigns that drive awareness, enrollment, and onboarding success.
- Copywriting: Write clear, persuasive, and empathetic copy for ads, landing pages, nurture emails, program guides, and web content.
- User Experience (UX): Apply user-centered design principles to shape websites, emails, and campaigns around parent/student needs, ensuring usability, accessibility, and conversion optimization.
- Campaign Orchestration: Manage campaign calendars, coordinate deliverables, and ensure projects are completed on time and aligned with brand standards.
- Cross-Channel Messaging: Create cohesive communications across digital ads, email sequences, websites, guides, and social media platforms.
- Collaboration: Partner with Strategic Communications, CRM Administration, Design, and other peers to deliver integrated campaigns.
- AI-Enabled Marketing: Leverage AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to streamline copy creation, improve efficiency, and raise content quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Use data and feedback to refine messaging, optimize campaigns, and strengthen the parent/student journey.
- Other Contributions: Support strategic communications initiatives and related projects as assigned.
Goals & Outcomes (First 6–12 Months)
- Contribute to increased enrollment growth by supporting higher funnel conversion rates (MQL → SQL → enrollment).
- Improve parent engagement and satisfaction through empathetic, accurate, and user-centered communications.
- Help increase retention through effective re-registration and family engagement campaigns.
- Deliver error-free, high-quality copy consistently across all channels.
- Introduce AI-driven efficiencies to streamline marketing content creation and campaign delivery.

Core Responsibilities
- Marketing Campaign Strategy: Demonstrated experience planning, executing, and analyzing full-funnel campaigns.
- Copywriting Expertise: Proven ability to write persuasive, clear, and empathetic copy for ads, emails, guides, websites, and other assets.
- UX & Customer Journey Focus: Strong understanding of user-centered design principles; practical experience improving usability, accessibility, and conversions.
- Cross-Channel Content Creation: Skilled in developing cohesive messaging across ads, email, web, and social platforms.
- Marketing Technology: Comfort with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot preferred); ability to collaborate with ops specialists.

Working Conditions
- Full-time, remote role with standard business hours (occasional evenings/weekends during peak enrollment cycles).
