The Curriculum Developer works closely with the Chief Academic Officer, Program Leaders, and mentors to manage The Williamsburg Curriculum (TWC) documents and updates.

Roles
The Curriculum Developer will be responsible for the following:

1) TWC Management & Short-Term Updates
- Ensure that The Williamsburg Curriculum (TWC) is continuously kept organized, accurate, and current (overview of many TWC documents HERE). 
- Keep TWC google documents organized within the correct Drive folders and ensure permissions are strictly observed.
- Participate in all program debriefs and oversee updating of TWC documents per PL and mentor feedback. 
- Ensure that all curriculum updates we make are worth the cost in terms of time, energy, and resources. Ensure PLs and mentors appreciate logistical implications of curriculum changes, such as changes required to curriculum mapping, man-hours required to update syllabi and courses, etc. 
- Manage informal curriculum documents, including assignment templates, weekly checklists, booklists, rubrics, etc. 
- Ensure all stakeholders receive the training they need to effectively accomplish their responsibilities in regards to TWC and Canvas. 
- Provide training to ensure PLs, mentors, and other team members know how to effectively interact with and update TWC and Canvas courses. 

2) Course Design Support
- Ensure that TWC Canvas Courses are continuously up to date. 
- Create and maintain a simple, yet comprehensive system for ensuring all Master Canvas Courses are up to date. 
- Create and maintain a simple, yet comprehensive system for ensuring that Master Courses are effectively incorporated in each semester’s courses, and that each semester’s courses are thoroughly vetted for quality and uniformity and are published on time. 
- Ensure that syllabi and Canvas courses align with the academic calendar each year.
- Support course designers in new course design as needed.
- Ensure established processes and procedures are followed in TWC and Canvas when new courses are developed. 

3) Front-end Canvas Support
- Serve as the team expert on all frontstage and backstage aspects of the Canvas experience.
- Manage internal team Canvas access and permissions to Master courses and semester courses. Conduct regular audits as needed.
- Understand the integration of Canvas courses with SIS.
- Oversee necessary html updates in Canvas courses.
- Attend InstructureCon every few years.
- Stay current on Canvas improvements, new features, offered integrations, etc and use discretion to determine whether and how to implement, communicate about, and train on new features in WL courses. 

4) Oversight of Curriculum/Standards Mapping
- Ensure TWC’s correlation to various sets of standards is thorough, efficient, and up to date. 
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date standards correlation with states in which we maintain major partnerships.
- Ensure changes to the curriculum each year are captured in our standards correlation spreadsheets. 
- Oversee new curriculum alignment projects such as A-G in California.
- Much of this work may be done by a consultant who reports to the Curriculum Manager.
