We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Buyer, ideally from aerospace or automotive, to join our team developing electric-powered aircraft. This position will be a primary point of contact for suppliers and a liaison between suppliers and Wisk employees for procurement of custom, commercial off the shelf parts, and raw materials.
In this role a successful candidate is respected in the aerospace or automotive communities as a highly knowledgeable and experienced procurement specialist who has direct hands-on experience supporting aircraft development, with a wide breadth of supply chain knowledge, from requesting quotes, purchase order creation, execution, and follow up to ensure purchases are complete, accurate, and on time. In this role, the candidate must be efficient in multi-tasking, able to manage large amounts of requests simultaneously, be a self-starter with excellent follow through skills, and a strong relationship builder.
This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
What you will do:
- As part of the Supply Chain organization, you will act as a Buyer for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market.
- You will be a primary point of contact for suppliers, creating requests for quotes, purchase requests, and purchase orders.
- You will support multiple internal stakeholders including engineering, software, manufacturing, quality, facilities, finance, program management, and flight test and system teams to ensure successful integration and support of procurement efforts, expediting and supplier management initiatives.
- You will monitor supplier technical, quality, delivery and financial performance.
- You will take part in identifying cost savings opportunities and work with suppliers to reduce material costs.
- You will resolve component shortages that arise quickly, preventing impact to the line.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- At least five (5) years working experience in supply chain procurement
- Excellent analytical and judgment skills. Strategic sourcing, opportunity analysis, and highly effective communication skills is a must
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal at all levels of the organization, between engineering, production, and suppliers
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with various cross functional teams
- This role will require ~5-10% of travel

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $108,204 - $127,299 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
