We are looking for an Ultrasonic (UT) Level II Nondestructive Test Inspector to join our team. The goal of a Nondestructive Test Inspector at Wisk is to ensure that all aspects of the nondestructive testing and inspection program are executed supporting new product development. You will be part of the Enterprise Quality organization that ensures aircraft products and services comply with safety, engineering and regulatory standards needed for Generation 6 program.

Why we need you:

    • You will assist with cross functional Integrated Product Team (IPT) support among engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to integrate NDT program requirements within product development.
    • Perform ultrasonic inspections of composite parts
    • Support the  development and refinement of the NDT program in conjunction with the responsible level III. 
    • You have previous experience as a certified UT level II NDT inspector and possess the technical knowledge and experience  necessary to not only perform UT inspections but also interface with all engineering functions such as M&P Engineering, Structures Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production Systems. 
    • In this role, the candidate must be knowledgeable, proactive, forward thinking and self-motivated with the ability to be flexible working in a startup environment. 

What you will do:

    • As part of the Enterprise Quality organization, and deployed in an IPT you will act as a Nondestructive Test Inspector for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous Unmanned Air Vehicle market
    • You will take part in executing organizational business goals aligned with the team and individual performance.
    • You will support aircraft structures, composite fabrication and manufacturing teams throughout production.
    • You will help support problem solving activities and assist with continuous improvement plans to better enhance services and support.
    • You will help coordinate Nondestructive Test Inspection statement of work, planning and execution of methods and techniques.
    • You will take part in advising on advanced technology in non-destructive instrumentation and inspection principles, processes and techniques.
    • Develops innovative test processes and equipment.
    • Consults suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues involving tests, processes and equipment.
    • Aid in the development of tooling and fixtures to support new inspections.
    • Develops principles and methods for analyzing test, inspection or statistical data.
    • In some areas, you will be working closely with IPT teams ensuring NDT services support for engineering and production teams.
    • You will plan and execute routine Nondestructive Test Inspections interpreting results and delivering flaw detection analysis.
    • As a Nondestructive Testing Inspector, you will help define the future of Urban Air Mobility and development of Wisk Generation 6 aircraft.

Experience:

    • High School degree and 5 years of NDT experience in aerospace, defense or space working on composite aircraft structures and fabrication.
    • American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) NAS410 compliant Level II certifications in ultrasonic
    • You have extensive experience with phased array and through transmission inspection.
    • You have worked on various aerospace programs utilizing methods, techniques and standards for composite inspection.
    • You have hands-on experience in the aircraft production environment and knowledge of common specifications, materials and techniques used for inspection data collection and measurements.
    • You have a strong and applied knowledge of complex standards, processes, and systems used in composite manufacturing processes.
    • You have a strong and applied understanding of applicable NDT systems, software, maintenance, setup operations for equipment.

Desired:

    • 10 years of relevant aerospace, defense or space experience.
    • ASNT Level II Radiography, thermography, Liquid Penetrant, visual certifications
    • Experience supporting qualification of an NDI System

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $115,971 - $133,300 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
