We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Logistics Specialist, ideally from aerospace, to join our team developing electric-powered aircraft. This position will be a primary point of contact for company logistics needs, handling every aspect of logistics operations and performance.

Why we need you:

    • With that vision in mind, we are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. The goal of the Logistics Specialist at Wisk is to develop an efficient Logistics operation to meet the needs for our next generation aircraft in order to build the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment. In support of this goal, you will be part of the Supply Chain team that performs hands-on logistics work, assesses risk, and manages daily logistics aircraft parts shipments, working with suppliers around the world.  Your goal is to lead efforts to optimize the supply chain logistics and related total costs and support our lean production system on tactical and daily problem solving.  
    • The successful candidate is respected in the aerospace logistics communities as a highly knowledgeable and experienced logistician who has direct hands-on experience supporting aircraft parts shipments, managing imports/exports, ECCN classifications and HTS codes with a wide breadth of  shipping knowledge, including all forms of freight worldwide via all modalities. In this role, the candidate must be efficient in analytics, sourcing and supplier management and be a strategic thinker as well as a strong relationship builder.

What you will do:

    • As part of the Supply Chain organization, you will act as a Logistics Specialist for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market.
    • You will be responsible for the daily aircraft parts logistics to and from worldwide suppliers, including preparing all documentation for Hazmat and international shipments.
    • You will be a primary point of contact for cross functional internal customers as well as logistics suppliers to support the business. 
    • You will support multiple internal stakeholders including IPT leadership, engineering, manufacturing, quality, facilities, finance, program management, and flight test teams to ensure successful integration and support of logistics efforts, and supplier management initiatives.
    • You will cross-train to support the warehouse team with shipping, receiving, kitting and stocking.
    • You will ensure strong process management is in place and implement, benchmark, improve and control operational performance against KPIs, including carrier performance.
    • You will actively resolve client complaints and lead supplier assessments and the development of corrective and preventative actions.
    • You will manage the daily logistics workflow and be responsible for issuing and maintaining appropriate levels of transport insurance policies.
    • You will ensure all paperwork is filed correctly in accordance with aviation regulations, company policies, state and government regulations.
    • You will create, implement, and update training aids, instructional guides and standard operating procedures to improve team performance.
    • You will handle logistics quotation requests for internal customers.
    • You will build metrics on gained and lost business, making suggestions on rates and services in order to be competitive.
    • You will resolve logistics issues that arise quickly, preventing impact to production as well as trade show events and demos.
    • You will liaise with relevant team members in relation to aircraft parts shipping needs and implementing new logistics accounts.
    • You will be responsible for logistics invoice approvals, overdues and assisting in clearing any discrepancies.
    • You will travel for business when required.

What you have done:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
    • At least five (5) years working experience in logistics operations 
    • Experienced with all aspects of logistics: dangerous goods/hazardous cargo (including lithium-ion batteries), importing/exporting, customs clearance and oversized cargo.
    • Excellent analytical and judgment skills, with ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal at all levels of the organization, and with external suppliers
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with various cross functional teams

Desired:

    • Strong experience in shipping hazardous materials.
    • Ability to travel when required.

$96,484 - $113,510 a year

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $96,484 - $113,510 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
