We are looking for a supervisor for the electronics/avionics shop team to join the production operation of our Cora vehicle. You will apply principles from high-volume manufacturing to ramp up production and ensure that quality, production schedules, and engineering requirements are met within released specifications and delivered on time in accordance with the production schedule.

Within 3 months you will:

    • Learn the applicable internal specifications and build procedure for all avionic units
    • Implement a team production schedule that supports internal customers
    • Assign daily tasks to avionic technicians 
    • Manage day to day team operations
    • Access the ability of direct reports

Within 6 months you will:

    • Ensure team members are appropriately trained
    • Work closely with manufacturing and design engineers to develop and improve work instructions
    • Lead process improvements
    • Collaborate with tooling design engineers to ensure part tools are manufacturable, ergonomically appropriate, and designed with an ease of manufacturing mindset

Within 12 months you will:

    • Maintain shop metrics
    • Assist Supply Chain with sourcing new vendors, ensuring quality standards are met
    • Deploy processes to improve production rates
    • Collect data to conduct root cause investigations of common/recurring problems and non-conformities


    • Manage, develop, and motivate employees who assemble avionic units for manufacturing and engineering, as well as service field units
    • Conduct HR/Admin tasks: approve time cards/Personal Time Off, annual employee reviews, approve & initiate purchase orders, etc.
    • Acquire resources to execute production plan (e.g. staffing)
    • Ensures team members are appropriately trained
    • Lead process improvements
    • Collaborate on quality improvements  
    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, peers, and direct reports
    • Maintain shop metrics
    • Ensure all processes are being performed in a safe manner within the guidelines of released specifications


    • 3+ years managing small teams in a manufacturing environment, preferably manufacturing electronics and avionics boxes to IPC standards
    • Trained in IPC 610A & IPC 620A standards
    • Able to support a production schedule of 6:00AM- 3:00PM
    • Open to international and domestic travel to suppliers (less than 20%)
    • Experience in lean manufacturing principles
    • Understanding of and experience with basic manufacturing quality principles
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills
    • A basic understanding of high voltage test setups & equipment
    • Experience with managing electronic work instructions from manufacturing execution software
    • Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading/interpreting drawings, and fulfilling engineering specifications
    • Knowledge of safety standards/guidelines pertinent to electronic assemblies and experience implementing them


    • General knowledge of industry standards in a certified aerospace manufacturing environment
    • Certified trainer in IPC 610A and 620A 
    • Advanced interpersonal skills
    • Ability to lead a team in addition to managing one
    • Experience with high voltage electronics
    • Familiarity and experience with a scheduling system (i.e. Kanban board)
