Why we need you:

    • With that vision in mind, we are looking for a Liaison Engineer to join our Engineering team. The goal at Wisk is to build the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment. In support of this goal, you will apply knowledge of solid design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle. Analyze, conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for design non-conformances.
    • You will apply engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues and design interim and final engineering solutions. You will identify documents, analyze reported problems and communicate deviations that could impact design intent and safety; recommend and manage resolution. Develop and implement product/process improvements.
    • The successful candidate is an engineering generalist.  You will draw from a broad experience with all systems of the aircraft including, but not limited to Structures, Propulsion, Avionics, Electrical Power systems, Flight Controls, Passenger systems…etc.   In this role, the candidate must be proactive, forward thinking and self-motivated with the ability to inspire and lead by influence a team of like-minded engineers. This person must be a team player and willing to find actionable paths forward between differing viewpoints and priorities. 

What you will do:

    • Resolve complex engineering problems related to the build of the aircraft.
    • Review defects and establish root cause
    • Review Engineering documentation (drawings, test procedures, and discrepancy tags) to enable technicians to understand the documents and continue working.
    • Review, develop, and implement revised/new processes 
    • Provide an acceptable disposition of non-conformance of commercial mechanical systems encountered during Manufacturing/Assembly process and production, including reporting of failures, malfunctions, and defects.
    • Document how to resolve the discrepancy using engineering principles.
    • Assist in determining if defects are Engineering related or workmanship issues. Documents defect findings.
    • Ensures that the proposed disposition is equivalent to the Blueprint design or will not affect systems functionality.
    • Provide feedback, guidance and support to Hardware Engineering in regards to repeat engineering issues or component failures.
    • Incorporate design changes using Siemens NX.

What you have done:

    • A Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM Degree) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional or Military experience or a MS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM Degree) and 8 years of relevant Professional / Military experience.
    • Knowledge of the MRB process / experience with the MRB process
    • Experience with Siemens NX, Catia, or other CAD programs,  
    • Experience working with PLM and MES systems.
    • Proficient with a wide variety of electronic and mechanical technologies, including assembly and joining processes
    • Proficient and safe use of hand and shop tools
    • Proficient with drafting standards/GD&T
    • You have personally created engineering drawings, schematics or other design documentation.
    • You have engaged with the FAA or an associated delegate in a Liaison, MRB or Sustainment capacity

Desired:

    • Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering  or Aerospace Engineering
    • Six Sigma or LEAN manufacturing experience/certification
    • Experience working with TeamCenter and OpCenter

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $190,907 - $219,433 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
