Staff Project Engineer, Systems Test

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to lead the development and operation of test assets used to test the different systems onboard Wisk Gen 6 eVTOL aircraft. The incumbent will manage the activities required to define, develop, implement and commission several test assets, track the project status from initiation to delivery and operation, create and manage the project schedule, coordinate departmental and cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, and configuration management.

What you will do:

    • Lead the standing up of test assets from concept to operation.
    • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure that the test asset is provisioned with the equipment in accordance with the requirements.
    • Assure that the test asset is configured as designed and specified.
    • Conduct design and test readiness reviews as required.
    • Assure that the test asset documentation is complete and correct; this includes specifications, design, and operation & training manuals.
    • Deliver the test asset in time to support the test program master schedule.
    • Plan all activities and equipment deliveries in accordance with the test program master schedule.
    • Coordinate activities for specification definition, design, procurement, assembly, commissioning and operation.
    • Coordinate with Facility and IT teams as required.
    • Source and manage external suppliers.
    • Act as a scrum leader
    • Facilitate Agile activities including sprint planning, daily-stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives
    • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to build and prioritize backlog

What you have done:

    • B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering degree
    • 8+ years of relevant work experience
    • Experience on aircraft verification program including test for certification credit
    • Experience with setting up labs and operating test equipment. 
    • Knowledge of aircraft system architectures, avionics, and high voltage power distribution.
    • Experience managing complex test program and multi-functional teams
    • Familiarity with Agile scrum methodology

Desired:

    • Experience working with high voltage battery operation and/or electric motors.
    • Familiar with aerospace processes and standards: e.g. DO-160, DO-178, ARP4754A
    • Strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $146,431 - $168,311 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
