As Senior Engineering Manager for the Analytical Data Platform Team, you’ll have the unique opportunity to set direction working with tech partners and business stakeholders and to be designing, implementing, and delivering it along with your team. Your work will be the foundation upon which all of Warner Music Group’s analytical activities run, covering everything from marketing optimization, performance tracking, and rights acquisition.  You’ll be providing the data that helps solve problems like artist-fan connection, consumption prediction, estimating song and artist performance benchmarks, and more.

About the job:

    • We are building next-generation Analytical Data Platform that aims to set the standard for freshness, accuracy, comprehensiveness, and ease of use to provide the critical insights that power Warner Music Group’s business.  We are reimagining this platform from the ground up, including:
    • How we ingest, process, and organize data about music consumption across all digital platforms we partner with.  
    • How we surface this data to our cross-functional analytical partners across the company.
    • How we continually improve performance, cost, governance, and reliability of this platform. 

Key responsibilities include:

    • End to end ownership of team deliverables and objectives
    • Setting technical vision and engineering best practices in collaboration with senior engineers within the team
    • Active career development of engineers
    • Effective hiring and team building 
    • Collaborating closely with business stakeholders

    • Build, drive and uplift dynamic and highly effective engineering team(s) 
    • Own the creation and delivery of highly innovative products 

About you:

    • You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
    • You’re a passionate engineering leader, with at least 5 years of experience leading engineering teams of 6-20 engineers and at least 3 years of experience managing one or more managers
    • You're a hands on leader who can write code, conducts code reviews, and participates in setting engineering best practices
    • You communicate effectively and  have a proven track record of effective hiring and team building You thrive in ambiguity and fast-paced, evolving environments
    • You’re an empathetic leader who builds strong teams
