Who are we looking for:
The Fiscal Solutions Specialist will work to identify funding opportunities and write grant and loan applications/proposals to secure funding for environmental, community development, brownfield, energy, and sustainability projects. This position will also work with other Funding Specialists on various planning projects at Woodard & Curran. The Fiscal Solutions Specialist plays a significant role in the project finance/funding process for the organization, delivering projects to municipalities and institutions that Woodard & Curran serves.

What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:

    • Researches potential funding sources.  
    • Prepares the monthly funding newsletter.  
    • Develops funding fact sheets and sales sheets.  
    • Develops and completes grant and loan applications with support from Senior Fiscal Solutions Specialists and Fiscal Solutions leaders.  
    • Independently provides guidance and input to stakeholders on project funding.  
    • Oversees the preparation of funding administration, including reimbursement requests and reporting.  
    • Writes and presents environmental reports, reviews, and assessments.  
    • Develops project delivery schedules that meet project specifications.  
    • Track project progress for quarterly reporting and agency monitoring.  
    • Support client and agency development of meeting materials, reports, and project updates.  
    • Participates in project kickoff and coordination calls with clients to discuss candidate grant projects and request relevant information on the infrastructure project seeking funding. 
    • Analyzes data and identifies market trends and related grant/loan funding opportunities. 
    •  Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection  
    • Knowledge of effective writing techniques  
    • Statistical, algebraic, or geometric knowledge and the ability to apply such knowledge in practical situations.  
    • Understanding of topics such as regional economic trends, demographics served by the project, and environmental impacts. 
    •  Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to complete technical report-length project narratives free of spelling or grammatical errors. 
    • Ability to distill key themes and compelling elements of a large infrastructure project and articulate them concisely for an unfamiliar reader. 
    • Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve practical problems.  
    • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and manage multiple deadlines. 
    • Ability to attend to details while keeping big-picture goals in mind. 
    • Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed.  
    • Ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines.  
    • Detail-oriented and capable of tracking project performance and deliverables  
    • Excellent research, writing, and computer skills.  
    • Highly organized, driven self-starter 

What You Will Need To Succeed:

    • Bachelor's degree and 2 years experience in planning, economics, public policy, engineering, or public or business administration, or related disciplines 
    • Grant writing experience preferred. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant applications. 
$60,000 - $100,000 a year
This role has the option for remote work, and the anticipated pay range is flexible, depending on factors such as the employee's primary work location, skills, experience, and education. The following examples illustrate how the pay range for the same role can vary based on different locations. 
 
Atlanta, GA: $70,000 - $100,000
San Antonio, TX: $70,000 - $95,000
Starke, FL $60,000 - $85,000
 
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided above; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
