Woodard & Curran is growing! Woodard & Curran is looking for Water or Wastewater Technicians near Seabrook Island, South Carolina to join our experienced team of Technicians and Operators. The Technician will perform routine maintenance, monitoring and testing of water and wastewater systems to assist with facility operation, maintenance, and service. This position is eligible for a $2,000.00 sign-on bonus.
What would you be doing at Woodard & Curran?
- Assist operators with the performance of all required job duties.
- Take and record instrument readings.
- Report to the supervisor any irregularities with instruments or their readings.
- Collect samples and perform routine laboratory analysis.
- Maintain Utility tract through general clean up and wash-down of facilities.
- Maintain Utility grounds through lawn mowing, weed eating, etc.
- Perform routine tasks with hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc.).
- Read water meters and record volume used by residential and commercial customers.
- Install water meters as needed.
- Locate valves, water mains, manholes, leaks, etc. in the field.
- Report to the supervisor any irregularities with meters, meter boxes, mains, valves, valve boxes, or hydrants.
- Assist with water line repairs.
- Check sewage pump stations routinely.
- Assist with repair and maintenance of sewage pumps and sewer lines.
- Responsible for the safeguarding and maintenance of personal protective equipment and issued tools.
- General knowledge of utility and company policies and procedures.
- Serve in on-call capacity and respond to after-hours emergencies.
What will you need to succeed?
- Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications within 24 months of hire required (D Level Biological Wastewater, D level Water Distribution Certification).
- Valid South Carolina’s Driver's License required.
- One to two years of related experience in similar field.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, walk up to 5 miles per day, and constantly stoop, kneel, crouch, and stand.
- Valid driver's license with clear driving record.
- Any combination of the training and experience which will indicate possession of the skills, knowledge and abilities listed above.
- Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
$28 - $31 an hour
The salary ranges given below are a national average only and may be different for this role based on specific collective bargaining agreements or contract requirements.
Please reference this project specific pay range instead. In addition, for facilities that are unionized and receive benefits through the union, the benefits may differ from what is listed.
