Woodard & Curran is currently seeking a Construction Manager with expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure to join our growing Design-Build team. This is a nationwide search to support our clients across the country.
 
Your leadership and technical expertise will be essential in delivering complex infrastructure projects that make a lasting impact on communities and the environment.
 
Who are we looking for:
The ideal candidate will serve as the Construction Manager, overseeing assigned project staff and support service consultants to ensure projects are executed in accordance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and client expectations. This role will act as the primary liaison between the owner, contractor, engineer of record, and regulatory agencies.
 
The Construction Manager will lead all phases of project delivery—including procurement, bidding, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, start-up, and close-out. In addition to managing day-to-day construction activities, this individual will also contribute to new business development efforts.
 
This position is specifically focused on supporting industrial water and wastewater projects for Private and Municipal Clients, requiring a strong understanding of the unique challenges and technical requirements within this sector.
 
Remote: Work Schedule

Travel: Requires up to 75% nationwide.

Projects may include

    • Greenfield Water or Wastewater Treatment Plants
    • Pump Stations, Lift Stations, and underground piping
    • Drinking Water Treatment Facilities
    • Industrial Wastewater Treatment Systems

What you will be doing at Woodard & Curran:

    • Manage construction activities for industrial water/wastewater projects from start to finish.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
    • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, contracts, and safety standards.
    • Oversee all project phases: procurement, bidding, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
    • Monitor schedules, budgets, and quality; manage change orders and contractor performance.
    • Supervise internal staff and consultants; provide leadership and direction.
    • Support business development and attend industry networking events.
    • Promote and enforce company safety policies across all project activities.

What you will need to succeed:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience managing municipal water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and tunnels.
    • At least 8 years of leadership experience encompassing client engagement, business development, strategic planning, project execution, and team supervision.
    • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification candidates actively pursuing certification within 12 months will also be considered.
    • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, technologies, equipment, labor relations, and union agreements.
    • Strong understanding of industry standards, corporate practices, and their implications on project execution.
    • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
    • Proven ability to implement innovative management strategies to enhance team performance and project outcomes.
    • Demonstrated business acumen with a solid track record of managing project budgets and profitability (P&L responsibility).
$125,000 - $170,000 a year
This role has the option for remote work, and the anticipated pay range is flexible, depending on factors such as the employee's primary work location, skills, experience, and education. The following examples illustrate how the pay range for the same role can vary based on different locations. 
 
California: $150,000 - $170,000
Rhode Island: $130,000 - $150,000
Florida: $125,000 - $145,000
 
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided; final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will be dependent on experience level as well as considering a % based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
