WorkWave is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer (with Cloud Infrastructure and/or Software Development experience) to join our DevOps team in Holmdel, NJ. DevOps at WorkWave is a team driven to understand and deliver leading approaches to our Cloud Infrastructure, CI/CD, Application Infrastructure, and operational data analysis processes. In this role, you’ll work closely within the team and with Software Engineers to define and implement the standards that govern how we design applications for the cloud, how we automatically build, test and deploy cloud-based applications and automate the infrastructure and services that glue our platforms together to allow WorkWave to efficiently operate our services with high uptime and performance.


    • Create cloud infrastructure and configuration as code to automate provisioning and scaling processes. At WorkWave we leverage Chef and Cloud
    • Formation to build platforms in minutes, not hours or days
    • Develop and leverage AWS tools and services to manage and automate key operations capabilities. This includes AWS Systems Manager, Patch Manager, Cloud Formation and custom scripting to extend the AWS services
    • Build application environments and platforms in AWS using techniques and tools to guarantee high availability, reliability, disaster recovery, security and monitoring
    • Work with Product Delivery teams to setup automated CI/CD pipeline processes
    • Develop database migration scripts and tools as needed for pipelines & testing
    • Develop solutions for continuously monitoring and alerting around uptime and performance. Logging and data analysis is the heart of maintaining highly reliable systems. At WorkWave we leverage tools such as LogStash, Kibana, ElasticSearch and more
    • Coach and train Engineers on the use of automation tools and processes
    • Develop and improve Web, Mobile, and API automated test frameworks to be fast, modular, and reliable


    • Demonstrated proficiency with at least 1 high-level programming language
    • Proficient with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, bash, Ruby, Chef DSL, Terraform or other automation languages to automate build, deploy, and configuration management processes
    • Experience working with AWS managed service solutions such as: VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, ELB, RDS, CloudFormation and OpsWorks
    • Experience with cloud computing platform and services to create and maintain all testing and production environments
    • Ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, and a professional business demeanor
    • Culturally, the candidate will be collaborative, able to learn quickly, and accountable for results


    • Experience writing test automation against Web UI, handling dynamic content and asynchronous updates
    • Experience writing ad-hoc and/or automated tests against REST APIs using high-level languages and/or tools such as Postman
    • Experience with Configuration Management (CM) solutions such as Chef or Puppet, and knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) process and principles such as Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and manage server instances
    • Knowledge of and experience building CI and CD pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Octopus, etc.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent, with 3 or more years’ experience with Software Development, DevOps, or Infrastructure engineering in support of Web and/or Mobile applications
    • Experience working as a team member on Scrum or Kanban teams is helpful
    • Experience with C#, .NET languages, principles, and design patterns preferred
    • Experience with any of the following Web UI automation tools: Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber or other BDD frameworks, SpecFlow, NUnit or equivalent test frameworks
    • Experience using automation frameworks against modern Web Applications using AngularJS, ReactJS, NodeJS
    • Experience with performance testing tools and approaches for Web applications
    • Applying AWS managed service solutions to supporting all testing and production environments, demonstrating best practices of how and where to apply
    • Plus if you have expertise with developing and maintaining test automation frameworks, automation code base, and execution environments to support testing efforts
    • Plus if you have experience creating and/or maintaining reliable continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
