WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
As an employee communications manager, you will help bring Woven by Toyota's story to life for employees and leaders with a focus on inspiring and engaging employees in new ways. You will help shape and drive communications strategy and initiatives designed to foster an understanding of Woven by Toyota's strategic vision. You will advocate for Woven by Toyota's employees and serve as a steward of our business, brand, and culture. Your role will encompass a multifaceted approach to employee engagement, utilizing multiple communication channels to convey the narrative and instill a sense of connection among employees.

This employee communications manager will support the Corporate Communications team, which is part of the Communications and Marketing function. The Corporate Communications team helps Woven by Toyota's employees internalize our company's vision, mission, strategy, and business priorities. Our communications inspire employees to connect with and contribute to the Woven by Toyota way, and to feel pride in the products they help create and deliver to our customers. We aim to shape, validate, and deliver integrated experiences that activate employees as our boldest brand leaders and ambassadors—ultimately driving business success. Its is a Hybrid role based in Palo Alto, CA. You will report to Senior Manager, Employee Communications.


Responsibilities

    • Act as a communications partner to provide communications support for our US and UK office site-based communications. This includes working closely with other teams such as Workplace Operations, Legal, Finance, Enterprise Technology, and Human Resources.
    • Work closely with the Corporate Communications team to provide communications support for our US and UK leaders. This includes writing and reviewing leadership communications, providing communications guidance and counsel, and supporting the execution of communication plans and deliverables.
    • Provide communications support for employee and company events. This includes executive site visits, special external guest visits, and Company All Hands and Town Hall experiences.
    • Provide general global employee communications and business function communications support for Japan, US, and UK regions. This includes providing guidance on communications templates, writing and reviewing material, and supporting the execution of the communications deliverables.
    • Help build our communication channels such as our company intranet, newsletters, Slack, and other communication platforms to effectively disseminate information to employees.
    • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication efforts, leveraging data and feedback to continuously improve strategies and tactics.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in internal communications, proactively identifying opportunities to improve and optimize communication processes.
    • A strong ability to craft compelling written content while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Executive Leadership for communication campaigns.
    • Ability to create engaging employee experiences in partnership with the IT and Workplace Ops teams.
    • Experience working with and influencing employees at all levels, including senior executives.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • 5-7 or more years of experience in employee communications, preferably within technology companies or similar fast-paced environments.
    • You will have a proven track record of effectively managing internal communications initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Preferred but not mandatory: Basic Japanese speaking, writing, reading skills
    • Familiarity with Japanese business culture
    • Experience working in multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.
    • Change management experience
    • Employee engagement experience
    • Knowledge of employee engagement platforms and tools.
    • Experience with video production and multimedia content creation.
    • Portfolio of the candidate's writing, multimedia experience, and/or creative content
$119,000- $195,500 a year
Your base salary is one part of your total compensation. At Woven by Toyota, we offer a base salary, a bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. The California pay scale for this full time position is $119,000- $195,500. The total compensation offered to an employee will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and level.
