TEAM
The AD/ADAS Technical Program Management Team’s goal is to enable the successful delivery of technology from the engineering organization to achieve business goals. The Program Management function in WbyT’s AD/ADAS organization is a partner to the Engineering, Product and Technical Project Management functions and owns the execution of the AD/ADAS portfolio maintaining the organization’s plan of record and ensuring execution velocity and agility of a highly cross functional engineering team distributed across multiple locations. 
The Program Management team come from a mix of hardware, vehicle, and software backgrounds but we all share a common drive to enable the delivery of complex technical engineering products to the world. We are problem solvers who make things happen by setting and communicating clear goals and supporting engineering teams to deliver the best safety critical autonomy through the technical and organizational complexity.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
For this position, we are looking for a Senior Program Manager to expand the team's capacity to tackle the complexity of our growing autonomy program portfolio and maintain the highest standard of execution rigor within the engineering organization. You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of one of our key programs contributing to the overall AD/ADAS product, in close collaboration with engineering, technical project management, and product leadership.
You should be highly motivated by the challenge of shipping complex technology programs to market, solving interdisciplinary problems with a strong focus on execution. You excel in navigating ambiguity and driving engineering teams through it by establishing structure and frameworks. The role requires deep technical expertise to directly shape and mitigate risks in technical execution, coupled with a genuine interest in solving organizational complexity that comes from the human dimension. 
The position requires a passion for contributing to the Program Management practice. You'll be working closely with other Program Managers to foster a safe and inclusive environment, to continuously improve and expand the TPM tools and frameworks, and enable and scale cross-functional collaboration across the entire AD/ADAS organization. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Establish and manage programs across the Autonomy group to deliver autonomy features in production vehicles in the Toyota ecosystem from concept to launch.. The role will interface with Autonomy teams , including Perception, Motion Planning, and Motion Controls while interfacing with the Autonomy Platform teams
    • Create and maintain a documented plan for program execution, risk, budget and resource management at various timescales (sprint, quarter, year) while integrating roadmaps into a unified end-to-end plan
    • Identify and proactively mitigate risks that may impact program timelines, quality, or efficiency. Develop contingency plans to address challenges related to deployment, infrastructure, and system integration. Communicate program updates, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership and key internal and external stakeholders
    • Develop the Program Management Office governance and tools practice in collaboration to resolve systemic issues impacting the organization’s focus, transparency, communication, visibility, and accountability to build a highly collaborative cross functional environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • 7+ years program management experience in the ADAS automotive industry, with a major Japanese OEM/Tier-1 environments
    • Fluent in both Japanese and English
    • Proven track record of leading large programs to successful delivery spanning cross functional engineering organizations of 100+ stakeholders
    • Experience driving programs in ambiguity, with only high level direction across distributed teams and diverse business cultures
    • Experience with establishing and evolving program operations and decision making structures adapting to team culture and operating constraints
    • Knowledge of software product engineering, integration, release, testing, and validation in OEM/Tier-1 environments

NICE TO HAVES

    • People management experience of Program Managers teams or similar function
    • PMP/PMI or other Project Management certifications are welcome
