TEAM

Our function, Digital Twin Platform, as one of the core Mobility Infrastructure teams under the Woven City umbrella, develops a robust software platform to realize Woven City's vision: "Expand mobility. Enhance humanity. Engage society." This platform enables inventors to test products in virtual environments and provides analytics based on simulated and real-world data from Woven City, such as daily life, traffic, robotics, and energy usage.

Within this, the Digital Logistics team applies technologies cultivated in Woven City to actual logistics site operations, solving challenges in the logistics domain and optimizing operations with both simulation technology and real data analytics.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a software engineer passionate about solving logistics challenges using digital twin technologies, including simulation. You will work with Toyota group partners, including Japanese-speaking stakeholders, to analyze requirements and propose solutions that improve real-world operations.

This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate with teammates across various fields, including English-speaking members. You will contribute to deliver logistics solutions on time and with high quality.

You will collaborate closely with business and product teams to align with broader strategies. We seek someone who takes initiative, thinks from the customer's perspective, and contributes to the growth of the Digital Twin Platform.

This position reports to the sub-lead and offers a hybrid work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify customer challenges through direct engagement and propose tailored solutions using the Digital Twin Platform, in alignment with business and product development strategies for the digital logistics project
Actively engage in solution delivery from both technical and project management perspectives, contributing to the timely and effective fulfillment of solution requirements
Collaborate with leaders within the function to provide effective feedback for platform development
Maintain effective relationships with external partners and customers

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, including proficiency in C#
Hands-on experience with the business logics of time-based simulations (or equivalent, e.g. game logic)
Business-level Japanese proficiency and business-level reading, writing, and conversational English skills.

NICE TO HAVES

Knowledge of any of the following: industrial simulation, game engine, web frontend/backend, etc
Experience in system design, with the ability to explain complex interactions such as data flows and APIs
Experience with development tools (Git, Jira, Jenkins, etc. Experience with similar tools will be considered)
Experience providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Technical and people leadership experience as a tech lead or equivalent, managing 5+ team members over 1+ year
Business level speaking proficiency in English
