Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations Japan, you as Employee Relations Business Partner, will handle all manner of Employee Relations regarding investigations and protected class category matters, as well as support HR Compliance design and management for Woven by Toyota. You will also be a key contributor to the positive development of our organization and team culture and a senior member of the overall HR leadership team.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
To be successful in this role, you will need Japan HR Compliance and/or Japan Employee Relations experience, either as a subject matter expert or a HRBP role that has extensive practical experience. You would have demonstrated the ability to work independently, and a strong collaborator with each function (i.e. Talent Acquisition, HRBPs, WPO, PR, Legal, and Executive Leadership).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Handle Employee Relations related investigations in both Japanese and English , partnering together with HR Business Partner and Legal team.  
    • Handle HR Compliance matters in terms of submissions, audits, management and up-to-date guidance on employment legal requirements for the Japan market.  
    • Collaborate with the Employee Relations team members in other regions to create consistent standards across Woven by Toyota, where it makes sense.  
    • Design and Implement proactive materials such as training or guidance notes to support our manager population in terms of ER and/or HR Compliance related topics. 
    • Compile and Support on ER and/or HR Compliance related data for both audit as well as communication related needs.  
    • Other ER and/or HR Compliance related matters as necessary. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Fluent in Japanese and English (Business level)
    • More than 7 years in HRBP or ER or HR Compliance roles
    • Excellent collaboration experience with multiple internal functions
    • Strong comfort with a high-growth company, where everyone is encouraged to participate in and contribute across all teams
    • Substantial understanding and experience of Employee Relations and/or HR Compliance  in the Japan market and demonstrable experience in developing and executing programs that measurably impact positive employee relations
