THE TEAM
Woven City is a fully connected ecosystem, powered by hydrogen fuel cells, to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is envisioned as a 'living laboratory' and 'ever evolving,' incorporating various types of cutting edge technologies. At the same time, it is also 'human-centric,' that is, it is expected to keep people safe and comfortable.
Woven City's R&D team will develop innovative products and services using technologies developed by Toyota Motor Corporation. Our mission is to:
1. Develop services and products for Woven City
2. Expand capabilities through long-term R&D
Toyota Motor Corporation has been involved in a variety of technological development in the robotics, energy, and automotive domains for a long time. Our team will leverage Toyota's hardware expertise in these fields to create new value by developing software on top of this.
Our team will develop innovative services that are essential to the city. As a first-party developer, we will also build a foundation upon which third-party partners can participate. Therefore, we are responsible for not just the applications but also the core software and capabilities.

Our team consists of many highly experienced members with international work experience. We strive to be open-minded as we create a new culture with members from various backgrounds and nationalities. We are seeking talented people to join us as we take on new challenges to create new products and services for Toyota Woven City.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for an experienced Technical Integrator. The scope of this project is challenging. You will be in charge of a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You will work with stakeholders to plan software architecture and requirements, set high level schedules and milestones, identify risks, and coordinate with cross-functional partners both within the company and externally. You will apply agile methods and best practices to maximize the velocity of your projects and meet customer needs. You are ultimately responsible for aligning several technical teams and delivering their successful execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Engage with and align several technical teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.
    • We plan / design the architecture of software platforms that span multiple teams of engineers, define common principles such as non-functional requirements, and support the execution of developers.
    • Work with stakeholders to plan requirements, set high level schedules and milestones, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners both across the company and externally.
    • Partner with many development teams and business teams, actively liaison as a bridge and manage the project smoothly.
    • Follow changing technologies and continuously understand all the elements necessary for development. Not only software, but also hardware, research, UX and business.
    • Do everything you need to succeed, not only in development but also after launch. Define best practices and oversee development.
    • Responsible for the success of the cross-functional task force project in charge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 5+ years of successfully leading or managing new product / service development projects with technical professionality.
    • Experience in processes ranging from high level software architecture definition to operations
    • A natural collaborator with a strong win-win drive who can facilitate productive conflict, creating outcomes that magnify input exponentially for all parties involved.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively, displaying strong verbal and written presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way and to tailor key narrative and presentation styles to multiple audiences.
    • A wide range of technical knowledge and experience regarding large scale software development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Patience in dealing with different cultures / languages and different decision-making mechanisms and logic.
    • Excellent project management, organizational and communication skills, as well as a sense of urgency and personal drive to effectively and efficiently execute transactions.
    • Demonstrated professional experience in large-scale program management, ideally in digital transformation, AI implication, IoT, Smart-city, Smart-store, etc.
    • Enterprise software development experience and knowledge in Java/C#/C++/C/ (or equivalent languages for mission-critical system)
    • Experience of development of IoT service product or big data platform or AI-based learning platform
    • English and Japanese language proficiency.
