MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
・Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree with an expected graduation till March 2026
* Must be in School until the end of internship program
・Must be available for a 3-month on-site internship in 2024
・Have no more than 24 months of professional full-time work experience in the technology field (excluding internships, research and/or teaching assistant roles, and military experience).
・International students who require visa support must meet one of the following requirements:
   ・The internship program is part of your education and essential for your graduation
   ・This internship allows you to receive some credit(s) for your education program
   ・Have Bachelor degree at the time of application

WORKING CONDITIONS
・Start Date: June 1, 2024, August 1, 2024
・Internship Duration: 3 months
・Expected work hours: 3-5 days on weekdays (24-40 hours/week)
・Salary: Hourly wage
・Work Location: Nihonbashi (Head office)
・Others:
   ・The program is expected to be onsite.
   ・International Students: Air tickets, visa support, and temporary housing will be provided.
   ・Japan-based Students (outside of Tokyo): Temporarily housing will be provided.

TEAM
Arene's mission is to empower Toyota and its partners to deliver next-generation vehicles with hardware-agnostic software that can be updated to support new features at any time.

The Chief Engineer Office has global responsibility for the definition of development processes and standards, management of system engineering, definition, and modeling of system and software architecture, and adherence to functional safety standards. Such responsibility is manifested by close cooperation with all the development teams so that products are delivered with the desired quality, cost, and timeliness. The team captures the needs of the customer and distills them into solutions. All team members are therefore proactively contributing to improving our platform and sharing their knowledge.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Systems Engineer who is passionate about technology, developing quality products, and how it can transform the world into a better place.

Our team does model-based systems engineering to develop vehicle, engineering, and validation platforms that compose Arene to realize our customers’ mobility transformation. This role will communicate and work with cross-functional teams and have opportunities to work with various professionals.

You will report to the Team Lead of the Systems Engineering team, and this role's workplace type is onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Solve cross-functional problems and challenges with systems engineering
    • Build architectural models with SysML using CATIA Magic
    • Create system/software requirements
    • Promote Model-based Systems Engineering

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Pursuing a degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field 
    • Development skills in C, C++, Python, or other high-level languages
    • Business-level proficiency in English

NICE TO HAVES

    • Experience in using CATIA Magic (No Magic, Cameo System Modeler)
    • Experience in simulations with modeling languages (UML, SysML, Simulink, etc.)
    • Research experience in the areas of architecture, operating systems, applications, simulations, or related fields
    • Proficiency in Japanese
