TEAM
The TMD-M (Teammate Driving-map) team is responsible for developing map data and integrating it into Toyota’s next-generation Teammate system to realize automated driving. Maps are an essential element for automated driving, providing information that supplements the cameras and sensors installed in the vehicle and information about areas that cannot be seen by these sensors. In addition to map data, we are also in charge of building a platform that provides geospatial information from the cloud to vehicles. The team also works on orchestrating efforts among multiple basemap suppliers, Toyota Group back-end stakeholders, and system engineering teams to achieve safe mobility for everyone.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for enthusiastic geospatial engineers with experience in map development, management and operation in a production environment. We expect this engineer to play an important role for mass production in accelerating map development projects, such as collaborating with related partners to develop maps, develop map specifications, design the architecture for map delivery, and solve issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop map and map spec of NDS.Live format
- Investigate and analyze basemap of map vendors with SQL, GIS tools, etc.
- Design and develop map delivery pipeline architecture
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in map development using GIS/SQL/RDB/etc.
- Experience in mass production development of in-vehicle maps to be created as Vendor(*) maps or to be converted from vendor maps. NDS.Live is preferred as the format of in-vehicle maps. (*Vendor : DMP/HERE/TomTom/Zenrin/GeoTechnologies/TMI/ AISIN, etc.)
- Experience of map development and debugging environment construction
- Basic knowledge of python and AWS
- Business level Japanese (JLPTN2 or higher fluency)
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with AD/ADAS development
- Experience in architectural design of map delivery system
- Experience in Linux, docker and cloud development with AWS
- Experience of large-scale development involving a large number of stakeholders
- Business level English
- Basic knowledge of C/C++
